Having kept a Nokia Lumia 720 I can totally understand and appreciate the idea of giving it some more life, a taste of Android now that WP is officially dead : this phone is a beauty, and a pocketable one ! I probably won't try the manipulation right now though... I'm amazed by the performances, after all the hardware already was on the weak side at launch time, so by today's standards... How does it perform when using apps, that might be the issue. Nice job, once again.

For anyone trying to do this with a SAMSUNG eMMC: - This was my experience today (3rd Sept 2019). - @10:50 he goes through whether it is safe to proceed, based on whether you have a Samsung Chip or not. - I have a Samsung chip. - I wanted to try it anyway (given this video was made in 2017 and it is now 2019, hoping the issue had been fixed by now). - I went ahead and when I clicked "Continue" @ 13:17, the program displayed "Processing resources", but then it stalled afterwards (? "sending bootloader" or something). I waited 20 minutes, nothing changed. It never got to "Flashing Unlocked Bootloader (seen @ 13:45). - So, I unplugged it. - It was bricked. - I did a hard reset (power button + volume down) several times, then opened Windows Device Recovery Tool. - At first, this failed. - I did a hard reset, then tried again in Windows Device Recovery Tool. - It stalled while transferring the emergency firmware (took forever). So I unplugged it halfway through. - By this stage, I was sure that I had 100% bricked it. - I tried another hard reset. Then windows device recovery tool. - This time it recognised the device, but said it had "unknown firmware". - This time, it transferred the firmware onto the device (the red Nokia screen. Took 5 mins). - But then it didn't boot up. - So I went through the entire process again. - THE SECOND TIME IT WORKED. - The phone is back to exactly the way it was before I tried unlocking the bootloader. I'm not saying that you will be able to resurrect the situation if you take massive risks like I did. Maybe I got very lucky. You probably won't be so lucky. But the take home message is - keep trying Windows Device Recovery Tool over and over and over, doing a hard reset each time. It just might work for you, if you've already bricked your Lumia. Maybe. Good luck.

well, today I found my old Lumia 820 and tried to do something for it, oh yeah, with all the risks:) It's Lumia 820, I followed your tutorial here, and it R.I.P since 15:00. It could not reboot at that moment. Now, it's been packed up and kept in my cupboard to be remembered for its glorious history :D

It's stuck at waiting for device during the installation of LK Bootloader (I think it's because adb is not able to recognize or detect the device. I have installed adb drivers properly). Anyone facing similar problem? Edit: I was running the script with admin priviledges. Running it without admin rights solved the problem.

Hello ! Like several other people, i used the uefi2lk.cmd program and it closed, without having time to check if there was a success message. For sure I noticed during the process a "thor2 error" (THOR2 1.8.2.18 exited with error code 84000 (0x14820). Afterwards nothing more than a black screen and phone vibrating. I've spent hours looking among the comments, so I tried to reinstall adb drivers and restart the computer. My phone is found under device manager, in Kedacom USB - Android Bootloader. Fastboot finds my device, which is good. I tried these commands in the adb folder : .\fastboot boot DATA\gptflasher.img .\fastboot format system .\fastboot format userdata .\fastboot format cache .\fastboot flash TZ DATA\TZ.img .\fastboot flash modem DATA\modem.img .\fastboot flash recovery DATA\twrp.img .\fastboot oem reboot-recovery Everything is working fine. BUT still black screen. I checked with : ".\adb devices" and my phone is still not found. So i can't perform the adb sideload step. Am I missing something ? I would appreciate if anyone could help me out with this. :)

I had my Lumia 525 dead after flashing the UFK2SD or something i didn't remember for 1 year. It just vibrated, and no display whenever I plugged the charger. I pulled it off from my closet, plugged into PC, and surprisingly it detected as a fastboot and when I typed the command " fastboot devices ", it was really in fastboot all the time So can I be able to flash TWRP from fastboot mode, instead of ADB? There is no way I can roll back to ADB, and there is no way I can roll myself to WP cuz I had deleted the backup file for freeing the storage for my PC. Saving that phone is no longer a big deal to me, but at least I want to try saving it myself =))
