Ok, now I'm more confused. The fiber cable is being installed today. How long will I be without internet until I get this in the mail and I need them to set it up for me. I don't do well will this kind of thing.
If the cable fiber line is being installed today, the technician will have a gateway for you to be installed in your home, and that tech will be able to do it himself or herself.
@brrreli AT&T is responsible for everything all the way up to the Jack home run the line from the telephone pole or the front even in the house inside the home you don’t pay for any of that they are responsible for it
That sounds right. Some setups don't have an ONT separate box. The BGW-320 has the ONT built in. Fiber line comes right from the curb or wherever right to the gateway. We have that setup here.
@@purewhips1 here’s what happened, I bought AT&T fiber internet service yesterday and had them send my the self kit today. There’s everything that’s needed in the kit that I believe of BESIDES the service box that you connect everything to. There were no previous ones left by old homeowners or anything and they didn’t send one with the kit so that’s the part in mainly confused about. I’m missing one thing that’s needed which is the service box you can look it up to see what it looks like. Without it… no internet so I’m kinda fustrated. But I’m probably gonna take your advice and just call them tomorrow and ask them further about it and maybe get a tech down here to either give me one or set it all up for me lol but if they charge me then hell no I’ll just ask for the service box and figure the free stuff out myself
@itsyenji oh I see. Then yeah. This isn’t going to be a charge. As long as the tech can connect to where it’s at then cool. You’re good. Att is not very smart when it comes to this stuff. They will tell the customer to take everything. Even the mounted Ont. then when the next customer shows up. They got nothing. Att IS responsible for the home run. Self installs. They stay where they are at. Making it free. But if you want it moved. Then that’s where the charge will be placed. Call today and get a tech out tomorrow.
@@purewhips1 like would I get charged if I wanted it set up at a specific place? Want it under my desk close to my pc in my room there’s an outlet. Wondering if they’ll charge if you request for them to set it up at any locations throughout your house
@itsyenji the way self installs are designed. Is they stay where they are at no charge but if you wanna move, it will be a billable charge. I’ve seen these guys where if it’s an easy pool, then they don’t charge but if it’s clear across the house almost impossible reach Jack. You’re probably gonna get charged.
ATT lies to you. Says fiber internet, but it's wireless to something nearby but won't come drop a line to your house, when other houses a few blocks away they will! Latency times are 5-10x higher than my other house that actually has a REAL fiber running to my house from the service pole. The website won't tell you, you must ask if you're getting fake wireless or real fiber line. Horrible. Someone is going to sue them.
The company will block the account if you do not have an account activated like you have to have a billing account number for the ONT to be unblocked to be used as a modem
Sometimes they only ship out a power supply for the 010 style modem. If you don’t have that then they probably sent the wrong equipment. You’ll have to contact AT&T and have them send a check out or send you the equipment.
