Why are you not showing what you're talking about starting at 7:56? You are talking about what to do with Tegra RCM, but when you say "hit OK," there's nothing on the screen showing what you're actually doing, and I can't seem to follow along. When I open TegraRCM GUI at this point, I'm not seeing anything that I can hit "OK" to. Thanks for any help.

I already had CFW on it but wanted a larger SD and start from scratch. Followed the steps (only without the RCM jig cause my switch can boot from a payload), but as soon as i want to boot with EMUMMC I get a black screen. Any tips?

I have this same issue, except I did an initial setup that worked just fine, but wanted to repartition the SD card since I misunderstood the EMUMMC and FAT partition usage. Even after a complete wipe of the card in my laptop and a fresh download of files I still have a black screen when trying to boot to CFW through EMUMMC. Also, how'd you get your switch to auto-RCM? Joycon mod? Or something different?

When I start Atmosphere, the screen goes black and stays that way. Even if you use hekate, it will still work. 　How can I fix it? Atmosphère ver1.7.1 switch ver18.0.0 Can anyone help me?

I followed all the steps precisely. When I went to launch CFW EMUMMC, the screen goes black and nothing happens. Then it just boots up to the stock FW

Mine just stays on the black screen. I had it working at one point, but then restarted to partition my SD card different. Even with a fresh SD card wipe in my laptop and a fresh download of the HATS package my Switch boots to the black screen when selecting emummc. If I reset the system and boot to regular Switch os it works just fine.

Saw another comment on this video from @joeyzwaan2771 saying firmware 18.0.1 isn't compatible right now with CFW. My system did the auto update from 18.0 to 18.0.1 while I was resetting my SD card 😢

so...i think i messed up. first time modding a v2 switch. everything's all good till it comes to launching the EMUMMC...pretty much any of the options. and my conclusion is i failed to update the switch (ran a factory reset) before installing the mod chip. After launching the EMUMMC. the hakate loading menu pops up and then black screen. doesn't get to the atmosphere logo. same thing with another tutorial I used. my question would be, can not updating the switch cause a black screen(seems likely) how to fix the black screen without removing the physically installed mod chip?

Hoping someone can help with a black screen at CFW boot issue. This worked flawlessly the first time, but I realized I didn't need a 32GB emuMMC partition. I wiped the card back to a 128GB FAT partition on my laptop and ran through the entire setup all over again selecting a 16GB partition for emuMMC. All steps went great up until I tried to actually boot into CFW. No Atmosphere logo, no Nintendo logo, just a black screen. I tried turning on logs from the launch screen, but even after multiple attempts the log folder on the SD card is empty. I made sure to remove my RCM jig before booting. I've also tried creating an SD File emuMMC and selecting that from the emuMMC management screen, but still just a blank black screen when trying to boot into CFW. All the files used were downloaded from this video's HATS CFW package link, and they were re-downloaded when I decided to wipe my SD card and start over. My Switch is an OG Gen 1 with SN starting XAW10001, so it's well inside the block of unpatched systems. Also, booting into the normal Switch firmware works just fine and downloaded and online games work without any issue.

brilliant guide.worked flawless. shame you have to inject every restart but on the other hand if anything goes wrong it boots to standard operating system. i do have one question. is it safe to go the official e shop with custom firware without injecting payload?

Basically, if you followed the guide and want to go on the eShop, remove the SD card. This will revert the CFW to just Official Firmware, and your Switch doesn't know better. Heed the warnings you see online about never being online in CFW And I wouldn't bother putting a wifi network in ever in CFW Just my advice, not to be taken as gospel. you don't want to get banned.

Yeah it is, you can google switchroot for guides, I would stay with A10 if you have a V1 switch, A14 just released but it's still kind of buggy since it's so early life.

Use a gamecard and press and hold ZR when launching a game. Alternatively, use Goldleaf to install an .nsp file and then boot Tinfoil

i had the same problem but i found this online and it worked. Get your switch in RCM mode. Inject Hekate payload Tap on "Tools" on top of the hekate screen. Tap on "Archive Bit - AutoRCM" on the right bottom. Tap on "Unset archive bit" button. This might take a while, be patient.'t hope it works for u too

Supposedly file emunand is more prone to be damaged. A long time ago, file emunand was slower. But theses days, both methods have the same speeds.

@@joeyzwaan2771 Rough. I had it all working and decided to restart so I could partition the SD card with more FAT storage for software files. During that my Switch auto-updated from 18.0 to 18.0.1. I didn't realize this until I just read your comment. Hopefully since 18.0.1 has been out for about 2 months it's close to being fixed.

@@RetroNaipeI fixed it delete system:/saves/8000000000000120 using tegra explorer.bin And then I run systemwipe.te in tegra explorer and after that I could do a factory reset 😊 and after that I did another factory just to be safe and now I’m back in stock and can play online
