I didn't used the base of the car seat in neither trailers I've used for my son. Its so much easier and just as safe. Ive even dumped my trailer once and he didnt even notice it tipped on its side and the car seat didnt budge so he was perfectly fine.
Wes Davis we got the Thule Coaster xt because it turns into a stroller after our bike ride. We got the Cadence at first but we returned it, since we can only use it behind the bike.
This is an older video and perhaps things have changed since I got my Thule a few weeks ago but the instructions s specifically say that a car seat should not be installed in your bike trailer. If your baby is too small to sit up independently and wear a helmet then they shouldn't go in a bike trailer. This is dangerous. Plus, those seats are designed do be rear facing only and she's not buckled in properly. Sorry to be a fun ruiner lol but people need to know this.
Do not listen to paranoid people and have fun with your kids. I ride with my 4 month old all the time with the car seat in our trailer and have been riding with him since he was 2 months old. Its perfectly safe. The only way its not safe is if you are riding in areas not meant for bike trailers or extremely uneven terrain.
