Nice information is it ok to run catch can from tappet cover or is it better to replace valve cover to run from there and does catch can need be at same level or can it be above connection
Correct me if I’m wrong I’m new to this, but isn’t it bad to drain the catch can back into the engine block/pan? Doesn’t the can accumulate condensation inside, I know the factory valve cover vents to the turbo and back to the block as well but I was just wondering
10:17 I’m installing the same vibrant catch can on my 06 tomorrow. Only issue im having is I can’t find the drain hole in the block you ran yours to. Any help would be much appreciated. Love the content.
@horsetorquesdiesel what would be the benefit on running catch can than over a by pass unit? I’ve ran a by pass on my Cummins ISX and never had a catch can before. I was just curious.
So ive got a question. I did the ccv delete on my 16' cummins and added a catch can off the ccv cover with a hose and have it vented to same spot u have yours. I did not get rid of the two tubes coming in on the drivers side. I keep getting this code P04DB. Please help with some advice.
On a 12 valve can you drain a catch can into the fuel pump location on the side of the block or would positive crank case pressure come out of there. Iv been thinking of doing that.
I recently read of someone testing that and not just pressure, tons of oil slung out because of how low that location is. I don't think there is a good place to return the fumes and oil that accumulate in a catch can back to the engine.
So my question is if you have an 06-07 5.9 truck does the crank case ventilation need to be serviced? And if it does do you just change the whole valve cover? My 06 5.9 has 450,000 original miles, and the crankcase ventilation has never been serviced
Can't find a valve cover anywhere with passenger ports, so I'm assuming this one you're using is custom? I'm wondering if there's a downside to just running one hose out of the backside into a catch can, with only one line out of the can to breath? vs two and two.. also, if one were to reuse the factory valve cover, would a single hose off the stock breather into a catch can with a hose out work just as well?
Lol of course it will spiral out of control. We hp junkies cannot help ourselves, it is an addiction after all. I had my new 04 delivered one month ago, it was supposed to stay stock because my 05 is modded to hell. Can't leave those spare parts lying around from my 05s evolution, so... 10mm, DDP 150% overs, 64mm he351, it never ends. Just tell yourself it's for the channel growth, and don't count the receipts.
I purchased the same catch can with the 4 ports and have it drain to the block just like you but still get oil pushing out of the breather tubes. Any suggestions on how to prevent that?
