Check out the website to order your commercial grade Christmas Lights.
The bulb color in this video is called Warm White. Warm White is the most requested color light of all time and it is also the only color we have in stock at the moment.
Quantities are VERY limited so place your order now.
Have you ever wanted to install your Christmas lights and make them look super professional. With the lighting supplies that you can buy from Home Depot or Lowe's, it's almost impossible. Not only that but they are not made with great quality and you will be making trips back to the hardware store every year to replace broken strands.
We will teach you everything you need to know in order to outline your roofline and make your Christmas lights be the envy of the neighborhood. No one will be able to tell the difference between your installation and the best Christmas light installation company in your area. Here's how to make it happen:
Step 1 - Watch this video
Step 2 - Order Your Christmas lights from www.lawnandlight.com
Step 3 - Wait 3-5 days for shipping
Step 4 - Install your new lights
Step 5 - Be ready to hear things from your neighbors like "What company did your lights?", "Wow, you did a fantastic job, can you teach me how to do that?" or "I can't believe you made them look that perfect!"
Step 6 - Share our video with your neighbor

Putting the bulbs on the peaks make so much difference. When I was learning installs, my boss showed me pictures of several houses side by side and asked me to pick the better job. I picked the houses with peaks every time but didn't know why. When he showed me, it was suddenly obvious. Now, if I see a house that isn't peaked right, I want to go ring their doorbell and tell them to fire their installer.

18:05 No need to cut. Break the socket off the run. Then a small piece of electrical tape. It comes in various colors. On that Vampire clip there should be a place to drop the cord down in to and has a split to prevent them from ever touching. Down the hole 90 bend over the spikes then put the cover on.
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight 9 месяцев назад
These newer sockets are built sturdy. Hard to get them off the line. You got any suggestions?
@snidelywhiplash
@snidelywhiplash Год назад
Suggestion about hiding the wire: In houses with vinyl siding and metal soffit, SPT wire will usually pressure-fit into the siding and soffit J-channel. I also try to go over the top of doors and along the top of the wall rather than down low. It's helpful to keep the wires away from ground-dwelling critters and prevent burial in potential snow/ice in areas that get such weather.
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
Great call whiplash. We don’t get snow here so that’s a pro tip! Have you ever had a squirrel chew your lines up on the roof?
@snidelywhiplash
@snidelywhiplash Год назад
@@lawnandlight I've been fortunate enough to avoid that, but I figure up higher you'd only have to contend with squirrels, where down low there's squirrels, rabbits (ugh), mice, etc. plus the other hazards. Tucking into the J-channel makes it a high-effort thing for them to gnaw on, and animals generally seem to prefer taking the easier route.

I happened upon this video accidentally, haha! I was trying to find a video that shows how to replace the bulbs in my landscape lighting, without any luck. My lights are uplighting that illuminate my house and the bulbs are halogen "PAR" 36watt. Could you PLEASE post a new video showing how to R & R the PAR bulbs? I would greatly appreciate it and You Tube greatly needs it too!! Thanks so much!
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
Amy. Thanks so much for your kind words. I understand getting lost in the RU-vid rabbit hole and ending up somewhere totally different. Unfortunately I don’t have experience with PAR bulbs. All the landscape lighting we work with is LED.
@amyferris288
@amyferris288 Год назад
@@lawnandlight Thanks for your reply! My lighting system is 20 years old so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that everything has gone to LED. Although I did see LED bulbs on Amazon that said they were PAR & equivalent to 36 watts. I'm almost positive that my bulbs are halogen because they put off enough heat to melt the snow off of them, which is nice. I thought about getting the LED version to reduce energy usage though, which I'm still debating.

Very interesting. A couple notes... It looked like you had two closer light sockets that you could've drawn power from. Also, I probably would've connected to power in the back of the house instead of the front. And you definitely should've tested those lights before stringing them up.

@p.o.frenchquarter

@lawnandlight

@@p.o.frenchquarter good point there. Totally agreed to a certain extent. We just realized that the labor to hide the wire in the front vs the extra wire going to back is negligible. On bigger houses that could be over 100’ extra. We always just taught our guys to go ahead and hide it no matter if it was front or back for a professional appearance. Great video. Are those male and female connections you made a safety concern in terms of water? We get tons of snow and some of mine would be covered.
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
That’s a good question Kevin. We don’t get much snow down here but we do get a decent amount of rain in the winter so I’ll speak to what I know. The only time I have ever seen rain to be an issue is when it rained relentlessly, ground lights/stake lights would trip breakers if a section of the lights were submerged in water. It’s very rare that we’ve seen roof lights tripping because of rain. Snow - 2 years ago, we got 8” and then 6” 4 or 5 days apart. It stayed frozen for close to 2 weeks and didn’t seem to affect the lights. When going from one level to another, instead of cutting the string and adding your lamp wire to get to the second level, what do you think about just removing the sockets that are between the the second level and first level and just taping off the pin holes?
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
That’s definitely a pro level tip. Here’s what we have experienced over the years. The stringers that were being produced 5-7 years ago you could easily remove the sockets. The ones now are much more difficult to do that with.

Hi, just came across this video. Fantastic tips and thanks for sharing. I have a question, do you have any recommendations for clips to hang lights on a metal roof? the edge of my roof is flat and smooth and doesn't have a lip to grasp, traditional clips just slide right off with any amount of wind that catches them just right. How reliable are magnetic clips in your opinion?

Suggestion/Question for the power supply cord. Based on where your wall outlet is located, wouldn't it have been better to run the power cord straight up to where you put in that jumper and then power that one segment right-to-left across the garage, then go left-to-right for the rest of the roof line? Basically you would have been supplying power into the middle of the run instead of the end. Would have made the power cord run a lot shorter and less wire to hide.

When connecting a string of 25, do you need the fuses that come with it or can you replace them with vampire plugs?
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
Hey David. If your talking about modding a 3 wire light cord with vampire ends, I would t do that.
@DurpeeSlurpee
@DurpeeSlurpee Год назад
One thing I didn’t see you mention was which wire is neutral and which is hot. On 1 color molded wires (all green,) one will be ribbed and one will have writing. The ribbed wire is always considered the neutral. This wire is supposed to connect to the biggest prong on the plug, as that is the neutral from the outlet. You may think that this is not that important, because the lights will still work either way. This is incorrect, it is important. When the neutral wire is energized, that means the threads of the bulb are energized when it’s screwed in. As you unscrew a bulb, it will turn off like normal when the solder bead loses contact with the base of the socket, but the threads will still be energized all the way out. This makes changing bulbs while the line is plugged in a fairly dangerous task, as now *you* can become the path to ground by touching the energized threads.
@lawnandlight
@lawnandlight Год назад
Great insight & information slurpee. Thank you Question: is the ribbed side just a reference to do the same thing every time? Both wires inside the plastic housing are exactly the same right?
@DurpeeSlurpee
@DurpeeSlurpee Год назад
@@lawnandlight correct, they’re both the same exact copper wires under the insulation. The ribbing is just so you can tell them apart. Normally in the USA, on 120v systems, the black wire would be hot and the white wire would be neutral. Since you are using 120v but both wires are the same color (usually green for x-mas lights,) you need a way to differentiate. This is where the ribbed/smooth wires come into play.
