Your link to the 4.6 universal light stake is not what you are using in the video. In the video you are just setting the light in and twisting whereas the stake in the link you have to manipulate the cord down through the clip. I would like to get the exact kind that you first show in the video. Do you have a link to that?

I apologize for the confusion. It looks like we are no longer carrying that exact same stake from a year ago when this video was released. We do have a variety of different stakes to chose from. You can find all of our stake options here: www.christmasdesigners.com/installation-essentials/light-stakes.html

Would you recommend C9 or C7 for home installation of a driveway and around flower beds? I guess C9 is better, but when trying to minimize the budget is there any reason not to do C7?

Hey there, very good question! We actually recommend the C9 for perimeter lighting because the bulb is larger and can be seen from further away. However, if C7 is more in your budget, then there is nothing wrong with that option. It depends on your personal preference and budget.

Don’t these just get buried in snow? Genuine question as I’d love to do something like this but don’t want all the lights under the snow
@ChristmasDesigners

Yes, unfortunately in areas of frequent snow, stake lighting can be difficult to use. Using the longer stakes, which are 15", can help if it's smaller amounts of snow. But in areas that have significant snowfall, we do not recommend stake lighting. Throughout the south it's a popular form of Christmas lighting, but you don't see many applications with it in northern states within the US.

Did you use cool or warm lights? Are bright lights considered cool lights?
@ChristmasDesigners
@ChristmasDesigners Год назад
We used warm white lights in this video. When someone refers to a cool light, it's generally a cool white bulb color. There are three types of white LEDs, warm white (slight yellow tint, closest to incandescent), pure white (no visible color), and cool white (slight blue hue).

The issue I have found is that the newer LED lights don't have flat bottom sockets. So they won't stand up straight in these kinds of stakes
@ChristmasDesigners
@ChristmasDesigners 9 месяцев назад
It sounds like you are using a stringer style light set which is not the same as a truly Pro application empty socket light line that professionals use. Below is a link to the product on our website. These have flat socket bottoms and the cord can be cut to exact lengths. If the light set has two or three wires coming out of the bottom of the light set socket, those are not the best lights to use for stake lighting and roofline perimeter lighting applications. www.christmasdesigners.com/christmas-lights/empty-socket-light-line/c9-spools-1.html

i purchased some commercial grade stakes at a thrift shop that were metal for gorund lights, but they are only made bot the larger bottom ones like the c5 style :/ , they keep changing stuff lol, i had to go back to my old plastic ones to finish a section.

what if your grass is frozen? bucket of hot water? thats what i try to do- our ground froze early this year in idaho- it hasn't been really soft since like right after halloween
@ChristmasDesigners
@ChristmasDesigners Год назад
Dealing with a frozen ground can complicate things a little and hot water typically doesn't seep into the ground deep enough or fast enough to help. We recommend buying an auger drill bit and attach it to a battery operated drill. The bit should be approximately the same size as the width of the stake. This will allow you to drill into the ground and then easily slide the stake into the hole. These bits can be purchased at your local hardware store.
