How to Install .DAI Mods | Dragon Age Inquisition Modding Tutorial

damn where is the times when install mod just meant "put everything into override folder" :D

God this is so much work, modding in skyrim and witcher is so easy, just put the mod files in the data file of the game directory.

If you're having trouble opening the Modding tools/getting a Project list issue, You need to find an alternate download link and it should resolve the problem -- I've heard people have found drop box and mega and possibly a few other places! I personally don't know of any current place to get it but searching around should hopefully help!

I was DETERMINED to not play DAI on PC until I knew how to mod it, and I have finally, FINALLY found a comprehensive tutorial that I can understand and use. Thank you so much!!

DAI was given to me when it launched and, I kid you not, I was never able to play... now that I can I'm happy I found your videos! :)

My partner is so good at computers and I am really, just plain awful, I didn't want to bother him with helping me mod, but I was soooo lost. To those to have a Trouble Merging your Mods. Just simply Move your DAI Folder out of the Driver and Place The file in your desktop. after Placing the File in the desktop, just relocate the path in the DAI Mod Manager and your Good to Go

Thanks for the straightforward tutorial! I tried following some of the instructions under a few mods and they all said to go to different things that just seemed too complicated to be bothered with, had no idea that there was a quick and effective manager out there like this one. The tutorial itself was very helpful, descriptive, and straight forward. Not too much fluff or self promotion in between me and the content I came for, was a pleasant surprise on youtube these days! thank for this tutorial! and the other ones in the series too. it’s the clearest and most concise one i’ve found, and it really helped me a lot. my mods work perfectly and even better it helped me understand kind of how to play around with things and fix them when they don’t work right.

can someone please help me with this, i've installed the mod manager and every time i put the mod path in my mods never actually show up in the mod manager, what am i doing wrong? :/

I usually only need like 45 seconds of info from these kind of videos but I didn't mind watching your whole video, you did such a good job explaining every detail without losing me halfway through, I see a lot of people struggling with other tutorials. impossible with this one. Never even consider the not in use folder! this will be added to every game I have mods from now on! keep it up

Hey just wanted to mention this in case it helps anyone. For whatever reason, my DAI files were stored in my Steam folder. Not Origins. So you might need to check there instead. Otherwise, this method should work just fine. No issues at all. Thanks for the guide. It was a huge help!

I really wish this video was recorded live rather than as a voice over because it's a bit confusing when you talk about opening a certain file but the video shows something different for like 10 seconds.

When I try to open DAI tools suite, an error pops up that reads “An error occurred while getting the Project List”. Do you know a fix to this or why it could happen?

Just a heads up. There is a recurring issue with modding this game. Some mods will require a "patch" version that doesn't exist. If you're inclined to download a mod like "Bi Cassandra", or others like that, it will require a version "12", which does not exist. The only solution I found was going to your Dragon Age Inquisition directory/Update/Patch and opening the package.mft with your notepad and changing that number to 14, then saving it.

OMG ty restarted the game in 2021 thought i would try a mod or 2. This was such a great help cheers from NZ :)

Don't have a PC yet...yet. But I already know what mods I'm doing tho. Here's a rundown. 1. A chest hair mod 2. Skyhold pj replacer mods. 3. Hair/eyebrow/facial hair mods 4. Outfit retexture mods 5. A couple of npc replacer mods, give Cullen dark hair and solos hair. Blah blah...and probably other mods. This video is definitely going into my saved vault until I get a PC, probably won't get rid of the video. I forget thing's at times. P.S also a mod that lets me have legacy thrones...cause I'm on console and for once revisiting inquisition since....it first came out on the 360. Now on series x. Still a nice video.

whenever I go onto the mod manager it says that dragon age path has not been set up correctly

I’ve only installed mods on one pc game so I thought I should look up to see how to do it on this game. It seems really difficult but your tutorial made it feel less daunting. I think I will buy this again for the pc, even if it’s only for hair and prettier clothes. xD

Can you do a video for adding mods to games on Steam? I have all of the Dragon Age games on Steam and I've been trying to add mods but I'm not sure how.

Tip for editing your video. Youre very helpful and clear in the way you teach how to do everything, but the images showing dont sync with what youre saying sometimes. ex: youre talking about file something, but the image is showing the nexus webpage.

Question: Is there a Load order preference for mods and what is it? I know bug/general fixes should be highest or close to highest priority, would that mean it goes just below the Official Patch in Dai mod manager? Also, do mods in terms of importance go in reverse order like Skyrim and such? (where the mods at the bottom of the list are the strong ones who override and have more influence on files or is it the reverse?) Thanks in advance. Found your tutorial very helpful.
