ha, try that job with no lift, in 106 degree Oklahoma sun, no shade on the black top. The fist Time i dropped the tank. then after I got it all back together thinking I was golden, it would not run, I didn't test the pump and it was no good, second time in the same place I took the bed off, MUCH easier! since I knew the tank was clean anyway. would have been harder to clean the tank like that. the reason i was checking this out is everything was find after that, drove it all the way across the USA starting that day. but now I have this weird problem. the pump is still working about 3.5k later. BUT the gas Gauge pegs at full when you turn the key on no matter how much fuel is in the tank and when I shut it off the gauge reads half full no matter how much is in the tank. also the Temp gauge stays on cold and the Interior Light in the ceiling by the rear window partially lights when I step on the brake. I cannot seem to find the problem. all the fuses seem good, box by the battery and the interior fuse panel under the steering wheel. anyone ever have this problem?
I'd use a friend or get a engine hoist and take the bed off cause most people don't have a lift to put the ranger onto. Taking the bed off is easier. With a engine hoist it's a 1 man job.
