Great Channel Matt and thanks for the great review! I'm interested in buying these Tail lights but ECS Tuning no longer have them available on their website. I was wondering if you knew of any other websites that have these Euro Spec Tail lights for the MK6? I just started learning about car modifications and really want to get the rear and front lights changed, possibly the indicator lights too. But I don't trust some of these shady Car Mod websites! I just don't want to get scammed and I'd really appreciate if you guide me in the direction of some other trusty websites?
Hey Matt, easy install video! They look great! I've been looking at them and the Ziza replicas and saw that they were for offroad use. Do you suppose anyone is going to check if they follow DOT reg? OEM are twice the price! Also, you mentioned your partnership with ECS with whom I've spent a fair amount of $$$, but didn't mention, I don't recall, how it would be referred, so you get the commission.
Michael Glisson as long as you click one of the links in the description, I get commission for any purchase you make! Thanks for the support! Regarding the dot reg, I don’t think they follow the regulation, however I am not positive. I have never had any issues with that.
I called ecs they said it’s one power supply powering the whole led doubt it though because then the whole light would be off would I just change the bulbs they are really no help they said they would get back to me and never did my front lights are working so I don’t think it’s the fuse any ideas ?
Hey, Nice job doing it keep doing those videos i learned a lot from you,and enjoyed watching too . By the way can i have your old tail lights mine are cracked lol .
I think you're asking about my comments regarding the functionality and the required code alterations needed to access those functions. Because the euro-spec headlights are a number of LEDs rather than single halogen bulbs, they can operate in different ways that are not possible with the US-spec halogen versions. The main difference is the presence of rear fog lights in the euro spec. To unlock this feature, the car's programming must be altered and you'll have to install a euro spec switch. Reprogramming the vehicle will also get rid of the tail light error that is seen at the end of the video. I plan to go over this in a future video when I have time to install the euro switch and reprogram the code.
okay I see what you mean, because when I purchased mine yesterday they said they come with a sequential turn signal, I bought them from eBay though, do you think its the same quality from esc....they were 360cad? @@ModernEngineer
And if you wouldn't mind to check out where I bought it from and the taillights themselves, they look the same but have an extra adding do the wires I'm guessing because of the sequential turn signals? www.ebay.ca/itm/LED-Tail-Lights-Lamp-Sequential-Turns-For-Volkswagen-2010-2014-Golf-6-MK6-GTI-R/254057939813?hash=item3b27088365:g:N0MAAOSwQ5pcNC~~:rk:11:pf:0&vxp=mtr
@@sevyn8038 I believe that will require coding. If you car has US-spec and you're going to an LED tail light, it may require some coding to get the indicators to light up sequentially rather than all at once. Not sure though. I guess I'll find out when I code mine!
I also have found a euro switch for $72 on ecs tuning and vag-com for $70 or something so it's really good cheap deals. I cant wait to install these 2 on my car soon
