haha. i know what you mean.... but I like using dark colored carpet tiles for our multi family units.. For under 90cents a sq ft, it helps reduce noise for upstairs units and you can remove 1-2 squares at a time.
Man, so many haters! The cuts were not the greatest but they will be covered by the baseboards anyway. We use Flor tiles for area rugs in our house with two small boys. We love how easy they are to install, plus if one are gets stained you just swap in a new tile instead of replacing the whole rug. I wouldn’t recommend using these tiles for an edge to edge carpeting replacement, unless you intend to glue them down. They slide around pretty easy even when stuck together. We weigh ours down with furniture and use those anti slip pads from ikea.
Can you please elaborate on what you do with the anti slip pads? We are deciding whether FLOR will work as an ~8x10' area rug. There are feet of furniture at the 4 corners, but nothing in the middle like a coffee table to anchor it down.
$16 a tile is a HORRIBLE RIPOFF! It's even more of a ripoff for 6 years ago, considering here in 2022 we are facing record inflation and average carpet tiles are no more than $5 a tile, depending where you buy them. Avoid ACE Hardware if you want carpet tiles. They are FAR cheaper at Lowe's. I believe they are around $3 a tile at Lowe's.
$16 per square foot for a very, very basic tile without installation... what a complete ripoff. You could literally tile your floor with $1 bills and still come out with cash left. Flor is undeniably the worst company to buy carpet tiles from. Don't get sucked into their scam. Pick the carpet from Shaw, Mohawk, Patcraft, or Interface instead. Any decent local carpet shop will order it for you for a lot less than $16/sft. Trust me. I just bought beautiful tiles from Shaw Contract for my basement media room and paid $5.50/sft. And I think they are from one of the most expensive lines Shaw makes. Flor's equvilant would be something like their "Natual Fit" tiles, which they sell for (drumroll please) - $30 fucking dollars per one 19"x19" tile. Lol... you be the judge.
