Honest question: What looks to be difficult about this installation? For me, the hardest part was removing the stock grille. The tabs are fairly stubborn.
@@customcargrills sorry difficult is the wrong word. I don't have your expertise on doing this kinda stuff. I am a more nuts and bolts kinda guy. I'm sure this would be fairly easy as you do cover everything on the install.
I just finished this 5 minutes ago, super easy to follow, dont expect the factory grille to maintain its locking tab piece, very hard to keep those intact but you cut the grille up anyway so its no big deal really. Super easy though! I used JP Weld Plastic Bonder.
Those plastic tabs are annoying to unclip. I broke like 4-5 of them on the grille. The next most annoying thing is those rivets. I just remove the rubber seal for the hood and drilled out those rivets. The grille went on surprisingly easy, and I didn't have to glue the horizontal trim. A shame that you have to cut some of oem parts like the grille. Overall it took me 3-4 hours.
@@customcargrills Did you mention in any video about using the foam buffer with the new mesh grille? Obviously it won't be secured w/ the grille like oem. The crash bar is slightly against the grille so it can be secured just by wedging it between the grille and the crash bar.
It's not required for the installation of the mesh grille. I may have misunderstood what you were saying or asking previously. I thought you said that you had re-installed the styrofoam piece. If you did that, great. If not, then it was not originally part of the installation process that we have done.
This install could be done with a couple of screwdrivers, a socket, a saw, some epoxy, a couple clamps, and a few hours. If you want to see a challenging install, check out this grille build: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-czYIrv49qNk.html 🙂
Its actually super simple, I just finished this 5 minutes ago and it took me ago an hour or so on my first try. I was very careful and moved slow, taking special care to second check all my gluing spots before applying glue. but YES this IS VERY EASY! My first DIY car mod ever actually!
