Thanks, only issue I have is I'm unable to drag and drop from my host to the ubuntu. I have bidirectional selected. Copy/paste works fine and I can drag and drop from ubuntu to host.

This is mostly a virtual machine thing. If you would have installed linux normally it would be a bit of an easier experience i think

But linux is not made to run on a virtualbox. It is a system just like windows. You don't need virtualbox to to run any type of linux

It's not just for linux , but for any virtual machine you try to load in VirtualBox you will have to perform more or less these steps.

absolutely nothing to do with linux and everything to do with virtual machines, in VMware you have to do a similar process as virtualbox. If you want to do a windows VM you have to install additions as well.

This is because you are running it from a Virtual Machine. If you have a 16GB+ MicroSD card or a USB stick , you can run linux live, which doesn't require any installation !
