How to Install Handlebars on Surron Ultra Bee 

I installed the exact same bar last week and if you just take a sandpaper and remove just enough of the little dots it will fit perfectly

only took me about 15 minutes extra with the protapers. used a carbide burr to clearance the lock ring inside the switchpack, and the grip slid on with a rubber mallet

Thank you for making this video! Since putting the Ultra Bee together i was worried i would have to extend some wires for new handlebars!

Discovered all this 2 days ago when installing my Pastrana bend Pro Taper Bars! I used a file to shave out the inner edge of the ring and then some sandpaper to sand down the knurling and then like you guys a rubber mallet to get it on. Process was about 3 hours but hey if you are seasoned with Sur Ron you will know this is part and parcel 😊

Great video, I ordered Pro Taper Woods High bends (on backorder) and think I'll wait until they have aftermarket throttle assemblies in stock before I install with the new grips. Great seeing this, knowing what I'm getting myself into rather than halfway through realizing how much of a headache it will all be.

Wish I saw this vid a month ago. Haha I just ditched the ring and kept the oem grip on the other side new grip on left side, i did it in my trailer out riding one day, haha Nate you and I have identical bikes!! Same wheels and bars!! Freekin love it!🙌🏻

Your video inspired me to swap the handle bars on my Ultra. I have had a pair of ProTapers (Adventure High) for years. I had planned on doing a swap on a previous ride but never got around to it and sold that bike. That might explain that my bars didn't have the knurled part on the left. So the swap went relatively easy since the both "rings" slid right on. The bars are TALL, I have long legs. I ran into trouble when I went to hook up the rear brake. The hose is way too short. Now begins the Adventure of getting a longer hose made.

This makes me laugh watchin these guys 😂 and they build bikes good god lmao it literally took me 10 min tops grab some sand paper and before putting bars on spin in your hand on the textured side lol and everything slides on in minutes 😂 mountains out of mole hills

Great tips - would be good to see it taken to next step of adding in some wrap around lever protection with something like BarkBuster style guards, I'd normally run them on most bar mods I do for the extra protection of those controls. Seeing enough videos of stacks by riders dropping their bikes directly onto throttle tubes and its not a lot of fun trying to ride with a broken or absent lever.

I’ve heard the lite bee throttle tube is I interchangeable with the ultra bee. That would make it much easier for the grip situation.

Sur Ron May have different designs for their controls. I did the pro taper contours a few weeks ago and it took some wiggling, but the controls slid on eventually without cutting/ burring. I also did not see any metal ring inside the controls, it looked like a plastic/ delrin ring.

Any updates on the throttle tube issue? I’d imagine people are needing new grips by this time
