Based on the feedback received via comments (special thanks to @onticdani!) I've updated this video for Proxmox VE 7 - here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1Un4zJJWUTE.html Thanks everyone for the likes and comments, you guys are great!
That's nice compact how-to. Unfortunately swapped disk fail to boot showing black-yellow console that UEFI Mapping table has an issue with BLK0 and that startup.nsh will have another attaempt in X seconds. And I ends in "Shell>" prompt on VM console. Shell 'qm importdisk' to local-lvm seems to not respect --format qcow2 .. not sure. Tried that with other custom storage, resulted disk was tagged in VM/Hardware with .qcow2 .. but result of the disk swap is the same. Proxmox PVE 7.7-7 UPDATE: fixed the issue via fiddling with UEFI setup .. This video describes issue a bit and shows some hints what to do ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A3z64QUTJsM.html I got through it to EUFI settings for the particular VM and disabled secure boot in the UEFI. Which then combined with path to BOOTx64.EFI fixed my issue. Going to retest to verify soon. But so far fix for modified machine seems to be permanent and solid. Survived soft reboot and hard restart.
I had the same exact issue found another comment that suggested disabling the "Pre-Enroll keys" option at the end of System's tab during the initial vm creation. Fixed it for me.
@@ogad12 Thanks, my setup is working fine since the fix even in UEFI mode. Fix with proper path + disabled secure boot, unfortunately set manually, fixed that permanently.
For anyone having issues in Proxmox 7.* where the VM get's stuck in "startup.nsh" and won't boot, I found these steps online that worked for me (credits to Jarek Hartman) 1. Exit the shell by typing “Exit” 2. Once entered Bios settings, go to Device Manager 3. In Device Manager, select Secure Boot Configuration 4. Un-tick Attempt Secure Boot and accept “Configuration Changed prompt” 5. Press Esc, Esc and in the main screen select Reset P.D. Awesome video and really well explained!
Really helps! Thank you! Update for this now it is execute start by using "qm disk import 500 /root/haos_ova-12.3.qcow2 local-lvm --format qcow2" And your can remove all EFI disk, it still will work after u imported the qcow2
You are great. Thanks for sharing. I tried Supervise method on Proxmox and it took long time to install. I think this approach i cleaner and perhaps less hussel.
Great tutorial thanks. I am stuck at copying the image to Proxmox, i can't ssh or sftp to the proxmox. I am using the same password as the webUI and the root user. Should I configure turn on something to get FTP working? Tried to change the password for root over web ui, but still not getting in.
