Right click and Install ICC Profile Next, open the Color Management from the Control Panel. Tick ‘Use my settings for this device‘ option and then ‘Add…‘ the ICC profile. After that, go to the ‘Advanced‘ tab where you will have to click on the “Change system defaults” first, then ‘Advanced‘ again and tick ‘Use Windows display calibration‘. You can now close all windows.

@@Waleed-rs4mo pc thing, you can't even do that on the console as far as I'm aware. Of course I'm talking about the ICC profile. You can still try to tweak the monitor settings

Just bought it because of your recomendation. Use it as second monitor. All good! But at first I set 120Hz and got a problem - the black level was super high, no matter of my tries to lower in settings. And when I set 144Hz I saw this contrast you told about immidiatly. Thank you!

Depending on the monitor you have it may be very close to accurate already, for example my monitor was like 95% there with some slight inaccuracy It may not be a big enough difference to actually notice without proper testing tools

If you would be so nice to explain exactly how Windows 10 & Windows 11 treat SDR & HDR ICC profiles and if it is possible at all to calibrate HDR properly in Windows, that would be a VERY useful addition to the channel.
Thanks for the tutorial. Just got Gigabyte G24F (thanks for your review) but the colors still feel a bit greenish and blacks not as deep especially compared to my Asus ROG Strix-G laptop. Is this normal?
Hey Techless, do these steps have to be repeated after system format or on a fresh windows install? Also your monitor reviews are always spot on & among the best quality out there. I purchased the MSI G241 due to my limited budget (+deal offer) and been so much satisfied with the product. The alterations after changing ICC reduced the innate oversaturation which the monitor tends to have and it makes a world of difference. Thank you for providing the best in class quality content out there straight out to the point with no huffles or useless banter, it is very rare to see that in the RU-vid space these days.

But what if I chose color modes from the monitor's menu? I am a little confused about how the settings relate to each other. I brought a BenQ SW240 monitor and chose Rec709 to grade on Resolve.

do ICC profiles apply globally or is it application specific: for example will my monitor look calibrated when looking at the desktop or while looking at pictures in windows photo?
In conjunction with OSD settings. In my more recent videos I have dedicated "recommended settings chapter", which are the settings to be used with the ICC. I probably should have mentioned this in the video...
How do you make these icc profiles, do you manually set them one by one? When I do this, and we use the settings you suggested in the reviews, does it look like it was calibrated with a color calibration device?
the taskbar tray icon doesent appear on restart only on the first install. displaycal dead for me but the other stuff for windows profile manager was spot on thanks for that

Hi, I got everything calibrated but in the profile color management tool the monitors are reveresed monitor 1 shows as monitor two and vice versa. On the desktop if I right click the devices are numbered correctly. How do I correct this?
Do you need to use both icc and Manual settings on the monitor to get good results or is it enough to just to look up some manual calibrations for the monitor?
