Thanks for your video. It looks like you have aluminum wiring in your house though (I have the same in mine). You are not supposed to join aluminum and copper together without something like an Alumiconn connector. Oxidation will occur and put you at risk of an electrical fire. Thanks and be safe!
Very nice video! Thank you for your sharing! However, I've bought the same light from Ikea a month ago. I noticed the parts included and installation method are different from yours. The current user manual on Ikea website, the "round plate" attached to the hanging bar, is not included now. As a result, if the opening hole on the ceiling is as large as the junction box, or wider than the hanging bar, I wonder the light itself is not able to cover the opening. I don't have my light installed yet.
Thank you! And interesting that it doesnt have a cover plate, as youve said it hides the junction box and hole that opens to it. Does it have all the wires needed? Im suprised it wouldnt come with one even if it is a different Ikea location. This is a helpful update to anyone who bought recent models if thats the case!
Hi! I used two warm white and two cool daylight. So from left to right I screwed in warm white, cool daylight, warm white, then another cool daylight. 4:29 shows exactly the bulbs I used so you can have a reference :)
I didn't notice that on my package but if it does say so then maybe it's better not to risk placing it in your bathroom if you don't feel safe? So far it's been fine in my bathroom but I wouldn't want to mislead anyone with a personal anecdote. I know it's safe for kitchen use as the Ikea website has shown though! So it could work just as safe in a half bathroom (toilet and sink without shower/bathtub).
