How To Install Independent Aftermarket Fog Lights On Your Car

They sell them you just have to look for them. I know there are some that connect to the fuse box and you just need an adapter for the fog lights and the fuse that was previously there. Just make sure not to use something that constantly gets power. If you can find the fuse for other lights that would work. I saw one guy do a Camry and he used the tail light fuse.

@@mirrastyle4524 better part of .75 inch. Probably best just to get the modules for the actual factory flood lights and use the wire harness you bought.

No the regular fog lights beam is lower and is straight, I haven't had anyone flash me.

It sounds like you need the relay, cheapest way there would be to get one from a junk yard and the dealership should be able to tell you the location of the plug for it. After you do that, it should work.

@@DanielsCarTalkChannel update i found what a website calls the relay on the interior fuse box hidden on the opposite side. One is suposed to be tail light, other is acc but the middle is fog. Its missing on our car (didnt have fog lights from factory) but still nothing. No voltage at bulb im wondering if the brand new multi function switch is bad. I pulled the pail light relay put it in the fog light slot but nothing but my taillights still work so idk if its backfeeding thru the trailer circuit and the multi switch is defective or if the 2 websites that say what those relays are are wrong

@@DanielsCarTalkChannel the diagram is exact to the one im pulling relays from. Im in the same spot but for some reason still nothing. Currently trying to bench test multi function switch

@@chickensfloat7427 For some reason with mine the fog fuse was still there, your switch could be bad depending on where you got it. That is the thing about the junk yard, you never truly know. I would try a switch out of a different car, and the nice thing with Toyota’s is with the exception of the old Tundras and certain Tacoma models you can just grab a headlight stock with a fog light switch out of any Toyota (that’s about the same year as yours) that had fog lights and swap them. It could also be a bad relay if you don’t even hear a click when you try to turn your fog lights on. Unfortunately with the junk yard it happens. If all that and still nothing you might just be better off using an aftermarket wiring kit, because at that point it definitely sounds like something isn’t communicating for some reason and unless you’re an expert in electrical work that could be more of a hassle than it’s worth.
