I came here because I thought I was doing something wrong. Followed the instructions to a "T" but no matter what I did the blinds would not snap into place on the bracket. I spent two hours, to no avail. I tried to return them to the store but because they'd been custom cut that Lowes wouldn't do it. Out of curiousity I compared the brakets that came with it to the replacement ones of the same brand. It was ever so slight, but the replacement brackets were a little larger and angled and shaped differently. I bought the replacement ones and reinstalled them and on my first try they snapped into place securely. My only guess is the brackets included with the blinds have a quality control issue. So if your struggling buy the replacement brackets.
Is there a way to adjust the height of the blinds? In the old versions you could cut and move up the bottom. I ruined a set by trying to cut the vertical strings which then contracted into the top. Our windows in the bedrooms are very narrow, top to bottom.
Yes, you can shorten the blinds. There are no instructions from Levolor. You must be careful and patient, generally following procedures for other miniblind designs. Don't let the lift cords get wrapped up into the headrail.
There are some videos here on youtube showing how to shorten cordless blinds. It's a little different than you would expect but if you are careful it can be done.
I bought the vinyl cordless stock Trim+ Go mini blinds from Lowes. The blinds are 72" long, but my window is only 38" long. I need to remove slats to shorten the blinds, but the procedure is different than corded blinds. I have looked all over the Levolor website, but a video, or written instructions on how to shorten these blinds are nowhere to be found. Lots of info on how to shorten custom blinds though, which are different from the stock blinds. Does anyone know where to find info on shortening these blinds? Or can they even be shortened? Haven't called Levolor customer service yet, since it's the weekend. Also, if they can be shortened, there were no instructions on how to do it in the installation instructions which were supplied with the blinds. Seems like a major oversight on Levolor's part. Hmmm.
@@frankviverito5404 I agree. It's irritating not to be able to shorten this blind. Unfortunately, it seems as if the corded version is no longer available.
I also called Levolor and the rep said "they are not designed to be shortened" When I pressed whether they COULD be shortened, she just repeated "they are not designed to be shortened." I took that as a challenge. And sure enough, I was able to shorten them myself. It is not as straightforward and requires a careful hand and an eye to detail. And be careful to not let the lift cords wrap up into the headrail.
These blind look stupid with a 3” stack of unused blinds sitting at the bottom because they aren’t designed to be shortened. I would be nice for Levolor to state on the box these blinds are not designed to be shortened. I had the blinds cut to fit so now I can’t return them to lowes. They look like shit.
Yeah the simple click and snap blind is not true. The design is definitely defective. Stop selling these or correct the issue. And yeah because it is a “custom” size you can’t return or exchange them. Thanks Levelor and Home Depot.
Is it just me. . . Why did she measure the blind? She did NOTHING with the measurement. I can see measuring the opening where you will be installing the blind, then using that measurement to order the blind. I guess I find wasting time performing actions that are unnecessary to properly complete a task.
Also, the video stated to mount brackets some distance from the edge of the blinds, but then the installer mounted the brackets flush to the sides of the window frame. Consistency is the name of the game here.
They could have used the remaining 7 seconds to show EXACTLY how the clips attach. But no... they leave you feeling stupid. I'm not about to drill holes and mount the bracket randomly. The promise of "We’ll walk you through everything" is BS.
just 2 screws?! (each). FAKE VIDEO DETECTED! This is why i don't like Do it urself. Corporations set us up to mess up, AFTER buying their stuff. You show the 2 screws going in horizontally along the width axis of the window, THEN you fast cut to a shot of screws being screwed in along the LINTEL's axis PERPENDICULAR to the width axis! WTF!
