A quick and easy guide on how to switch to a new case for a Holden Barina/Cruze/Trax 2 Button Remote Flip Key. The case can be purchased here: www.remotepro....
I followed this including punching out the pin on the blade to swap the old cut key in and saved 174.00, my mall Mister Mint had the same replacement FOB for 180 with cutting or just to cut the new blade 60. I don’t have any special tools, used a tiny screw driver, hammer and my nail file to do the filing, the FOB was 6.00 from TEMU. Tested and all working. Thanks for the video, I found it helpful rewatching each step to get everything in order which made loading the spring and snapping back together pretty straight forward. But yes you do need to butcher the old one to get it off, it was sealed on.
Disappointing that the original blade does not fit into this shell. Cost of cutting the blade is 3 times the price of the shell. Must consider this when purchasing. If that issue can be fixed then this product would be really good for the price.
Like most of the otherf viewers, my keyfob has to be forced open NO CHANCE of going back once you start!! Also, turn the sound down and slow the playback speed so you can see what's going on. Despite appearances, there is no sleight of hand!
I felt like a meth head trying to dismantle the old fob, finally it seperated, swap circuit board, and to punch out the roll pin to utilize my old key blank, install battery works great, thanks for the info.
Sounds like he's done it before, but looks like he's just going for it and seeing what's next as he goes. A lot of videos are made on the fly while trying to sound like they know what they're doing.
I took this path for my MY16 Cruze. The original fob couldn't be pryd apart like this. Unfortunately had to butcher it apart, but was able to use the circuit board in the new shell.
You can. It is held by a pin. Drive it out I used a 0.8 mm pin punchto take the blades out (keep the pins) . The pin drives into a slot in the blade which is slightly off set in the old blade from the position it needs to be in the new one. Use a needle file to elongate the slot it the right direction checking the old blade in the new swivel fixture until you can sight through the pin hole. Then drive the pin in with the original blade in the nw swivel assembly and reassemble the key.
