Very well done. Perfect commentary, keeping it real. Now I know where to tap into the harnesses and get some more cloth tape as well, great stuff, and can tackle my install. I also have the Triple LED Tailgate Light Bar from OPT-7. Thanks again for doing this video.
Your statement is not 100% accurate. If your GM truck is 2015.5 and newer you don't have to have DL3 mirrors for this installation to work as the wiring harness already has the needed pins right from the manufacture. I know this because I did the DL8 to DL3 mirror upgrade, you only add 3 extra wires to make it work on the door side of the electrical harness.
Do you know or anyone that’s comnented, if those colors are the same for a 20 Silverado? This method seems way easier than running wires all around, tapping at headlights, at a bcm, etc etc..
Great video and it helped me a lot. I am hoping you can help with an issue I am having. I connected the white courtesy lights to pin #4 and during the day the lights work fine but at night the white lights stay on constantly. They do not change over to the amber color. Any ideas what I did wrong?
Thanks Stephen… sounds like somewhere the cables might be crossed or set in the wrong pin. Try troubleshooting shooting by switching the courtesy light and amber lights cable to see if that makes a difference. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Hey Bryan, if i understand your question correctly, you’ll find the fuses on the passenger side underneath the dashboard by the feet. There’s a cover there that you need to remove. Hope that helps and answers your question.
@syko08 Humm I have a 2500hd and I have 3 fuse boxes one on each side of dash and 1 under hood. Are you saying there is a 4th on floorboard by feet? I had tapped the puddle light wire and had power, now I don't. Was looking for the fuse, but not able to locate. This install is a pai in the ass
@@bryancatrina5787 oh gotcha… yeah, I’m not sure about the 2500. I had a 1500. Check gm-forums. Ask the question there. Someone will know. Sorry couldn’t be of more help. Best of luck
Hey Ryan, Sold the truck earlier this year and the tape was still holding up well. But if i recall correctly, I believe they come with clips that you can drill to the truck and guarantee them not falling off. I didn't use the clip because I didnt want to drill any holes into the body.
