Good video..it’s the start of winter & working on the ZX. Your video pointed out 3 things I would of screwed up on. I did cut the bolt to be able to lock the bike, I re-routed my wires through the frame, I also used the same type of drill bit..after breaking a normal drill bit. Thank you..well done & im sure you saved issues for many that watched this video. I’m subscribing & a like..Thanks bro!
I did this in my K5 1000 a few years back. I bought an actual billet top yoke. The feel of the bars and seating position is excellent, the added wind noise is a problem I'm still dealing with. Thinking about switching the bars back to stock.
Thankful for this vid bc i was gonna do it untill i seen this. Glad im not trashing my OEM triple and having getto set up anymore. I ordered a triple tree and risers from ss-moto. Cant wait.
Good effort and video quality, but you should have took the top part of the triple tree clamp off and have a machine shop do the drilling and to get the alignment right.. the way the right hole is notched and the amount of hardware store washers used is crazy lol That bike is supposed to be ridden at high speeds in the canyons.. and your life is trusted by those small washers and that oval hole.. I would honestly replace the triple tree clamp and do it right the first time especially something that takes a large about of force and your life depends on it. Ride Safe
Great idea and good of you to share it but I was cringing looking at the process and damage done, best technique is to take some more time measuring and remove the triple clamp so you can drill it in a press and get it perfect, sound idea though, I doubt it will weaken the triple clamp too much.
2:30 possibly a shorter bolt? also I use tinfoil under my control clamps, just spray some adhesive glue on one side and use the tinfoil like tape, it doesn't degrade and actually grips very well. I did this same project to my 05 cbr600RR. Excellent video and thank you for sharing a step by step video it's going to help allot of people out, I wish I would of made a video on mine for others to learn.
hey man idk if you’ll see this but i just started the process on my 636 i was wondering if you needed to get longer wiring or any clutch lines or throttle lines? or if you used the stock ones
Thanks for your video of the NAO lights, but...I'm trying to figure out why would you do this to a gix? I know it's probably more comfy, but I could never....
Top clamp is actually weak and flimsy, are you sure this mode is safe enough? I was thinking to do same thing to my bike but those safety concerns stopped me.
Damn ..MacGyver 101 , kinda defeats the whole purpose of what the bike was designed for. Should of gone with Suzuki’s naked bike if your looking for Confort. Their cheaper too
If you want the much quicker , better looking , braking , handling biken..you buy the sportbike and make it comfy ... its no fun being on the 1000cc naked bike and getting gapped by a 600cc sportbike
