In this video I complete the service for the GSXR 600 750 K6 using the genuine service kit from Suzuki.
Please note i'm not a qualified Suzuki tech so following this guide is at your own risk but hopefully a few find it helpful/ insight to the process (hasn't gone bang yet with me servicing it myself for 8 years lol)

When changing the oil and it's clear rather than dirty is a sign of the owner taking care of his prize and possession for my vehicle not motorcycle they say change the oil every 7,000 - 15,000 miles but i always change at every 2,000 to 2500 miles and the mechanics always say to me you didn't have to and i respect that but i always have on all my vehicles. Crystal clear when you pour it and medium clear when you drain it. Use heavy duty aluminum wrap to mold a quarry so when filter is removed the oil will spill on aluminum and drip onto oil pan. This has been the BEST how to video i have ever seen, very informative on what to do and not do and the best part is if you are servicing for the winter storage no matter how each item looks just change it. Peace.

Agree the standard service intervals on cars is way to long, I change my oils on the cars every 6,000 miles or 1 year (which ever comes sooner) when you look through the oil filler the cylinder head is golden clean 😎 Thanks for the comment & glad you appreciated the video 👌

Great video. Mechanically stupid here. I confidently did the spark plugs, oil change and coolant flush. This video absolutely kills! Detailed, simple and shows the critical things that if overlooked can cause issues. Did it all in 5 hours, much quicker if some things weren’t so fiddly, but I enjoyed myself. However, coolant flush was last and I was running a bit late. I forgot to crack the little bolt to release the air after filling with coolant. I took the bike up to temp and let the fan kick in. It sounded fine and it’s parked for the night. Should I be concerned I didn’t release the air and in the morning should I crack it and top up, all good? Thanks for everything!
@stoneautomotive
@stoneautomotive Год назад
Glad you enjoyed the video and enabled you to complete the service 😎 As long as the water temperature didn’t exceed 110 Celsius you shouldn’t have caused any damage. It’s worth letting the engine cool down completely and open the coolant cap & just quickly check the bleed screw to check for airlocks then top up the radiator to the max again.

Hello, first of all, great video, thank you very much for that. I saw that you have switch the relocated regulator to the side. Is there a video about it or what are the dimensions of the intermediate plate and do you use a different regulator? I have the problem and have had to replace it 3 times. I would appreciate an answer. Greetings from germany 🫡🫡

I always follow the manual for service. I know Suzuki engineers know more than many opinions we get all over the web. My question is after a ride the oil level is way above the sight glass. Suzuki method must be a cold check. Run the bike for a few minutes then shut off and wait 3 minutes. That's one level. Riding the bike and checking is a very different level. What do you guys do
@stoneautomotive
@stoneautomotive Год назад
Odd, mine is higher when it’s been sat for a few weeks on the paddock stand but started or even ridden then checked a few minutes after it’s always in the middle of the sight glass 👍
@mike216ism
@mike216ism Год назад
@@stoneautomotive thanks for responding. All I'm saying is heat expansion leaves it much higher than OEM oil change procedure. I have a 2018 gsxr 1000R. It was the same on my 05 gsxr 1000. So I go by the manual. If I were to set a hot oil level then it would be low according to Suzuki oil level check. When I rode the bike home from the dealership and checked the level it was above high level on sight glass. I've always wondered why they want us to check their way rather than a cold mark or warm mark.

@stoneautomotive
@stoneautomotive Год назад
Certainly sounds like a wiring/ electrical issue, the safety feature has been activated as the bike “thinks” your trying to ride away with the side stand down. You could bypass the side stand switch but be careful not to start it when it’s in gear as you’ll watch it dole off the side stand 🥴
