I watched this, and a few others, bought my own idatastart and t-harness to put in a 2016 crv. After programming the module with a laptop (super easy) I had the stuff installed and the car remote started from the factory fob in 30 mins or less. Took longer to dress everything and put the car back together than to install and remote start. Love it. Although I learned, anyone who will put in a remote start and long range fobs for 400 bucks, ain't makin' much off of that.
@@juanh1093 because the cost of the materials wouldn't be A LOT less than $400 dollars (maybe it's now over that) so if anyone will put one in for you for that little money they are not making much and if you can't do it yourself that is a good deal. Obviously you can buy different makes and models and you don't have to get the long range antenna and fobs (I did not and my cost was still still like $275 iirc) etc... So maybe it could be done for significantly less than I did but with a t-harness, module, and long range kit that is over $300 just in parts for sure. Unless you're buying them in bulk and getting a discount or you're getting some mechanic discount or you've worked out some other type of deal with the company or one of it's distributors etc... I can't see paying a tech to install one and charging only $400 as being profitable. They'd have to put one in, complete install, in 30 minutes or less. I'm sure costs have increased since however many years have passed since I put mine in as well. If you're doing it on the side to make money it wouldn't net you much per job at that price either but module and t-harness only and charge $400 you'd make like 125 maybe, at back then's prices.
i appreciate you took the time to make this video. However, one of the most important steps in remote start installations is the placement of the module and its wiring. The Honda Accord has a Telescopic Steering Wheel ( the steering wheel adjusts up/down and away/towards the driver) The T-Harness and Module has to be installed with this in mind otherwise the harmess and module will get damage as the driver(s) adjust the steering wheel. You did a great job advertising the T-Harness and Module. Would you please show us how the Module and Harness was installed underneath/back of dashboard?
This system is very simple to DYI as shown here but dose this system turns on the blinker to let you know that the remote starter is operational? I don't see the flashes, this is important to have because if you're not close enough to here it start and runs the how would you know that the remote start is working or the car is running? Thanks
it work once i programmed i tried in side my car to start it works perfect i shutdown my car open driver side door and start from outside it stops starting and i need to reprogram aevery single time
Hello I bought the model mc-900 ignition control for my 2005 honda civic believing it would come with the connectors as shown in the video, I thought I would just connect the connectors and voila. But unfortunately it was not like that. I would like to know if I can obtain the missing connectors to do the same procedure that you did in the video. I don't have much knowledge of electronics so I am asking you this question. Thanks in advance.
Would a non factory remote start slowly drain the battery on a 2016 Honda CR-V EX? I have ha 2 batteries completely drain over several months. The Honda dealers checked my car and couldn’t find anything wrong. Now they are saying it’s from the remote start that the previous owner installed.

Lol as an installer at Honda and have installed remote starters for 14 years. Infact is currently sitting in a 2020 crv watching this video as I remote start it. I’m a little confused why he’s using a compustar dc-3 and idatalink wire harness kits and claiming that he designed them.

Good evening, great video, Im trouble shooting. Already installed in my 2010 honda ridgeline. I owned this truck for 4 yrs now , my remote start stop working . I looked under the steering wheel , i see the black box , i looked around very quickly, not sure what im looking for !!. But my common sense tells me to check for loose wires or loose attachments.... Is this common? . Does this unit go bad or maybe a fuse blown ...any idea? . Thanks appreciate your video and your time . Good night
If your battery died or has been changed you will need to reset your automatic starter, usually a switch under the steering wheel/ left foot area if I'm not mistaken..
If I have a push button already but my 2015 Honda Accord E-xl doesn't remote start, how do you setup you already push button system that does not have remote start.
