Thank you! I have a JK3000DF3BB. It's almost just like this one but the light, thank God, is in front by the door only it's on the roof of the oven. It will be diff too.
I have GE Double Wall oven JT5500BL6TS. It has the same wall light fixture as the oven featured in this video. I did not need to remove the T10 screw in order to remove the glass cover. This video was very helpful in showing how the metal latch fits into the housing. With that information, I was able, using a small flat head screwdriver, to put pressure on the metal latch, pushing toward the rear of the oven, while simultaneously carefully prying up and away from the wall. Once the metal latch released, the glass cover popped right off. I don’t see how GE could make changing a light bulb any more difficult!
1. Turn off your circuit breaker to the oven first - just in case! 2. Remove the shelves from the oven, so you can put your elbows on the bottom while working. Much easier this way. 3. Put a towel on the bottom of the oven, because the glass bulb covers can easily fall down and possibly break. 4. On the left-hand light, you do NOT need to remove the screw. Just take a flat screwdriver and gently un-hook the metal latch, and the glass lid will come off. It takes a little wiggling. 5. For the "upper" light bulb, there is no metal latch. It's just a glass cover that has small indentations on it. For this top bulb, just use a flat screwdriver on the SHORT side of the rectangular glass cover and gently pop it out. 6. Both of these require G9, roughly +/- 30w bulbs. 7. Use a cloth or surgical gloves while handling the Halogen bulbs so you don't get skin oil on them. 8. Bake me a cake.
