How to Install Roof Racks on a 3rd Gen Mazda 3 | Step by step 

I just installed them today on a 2018 hatchback. There are a couple of things I did differently. It came with adhesive strips that go under the mounting feet to prevent scratches in the paint. I also installed the studs first, then lowered the bar over the studs. It was easier to tighten them down before the racks were on. I also used anti-seize lubricant so the studs are removable in the future.

Has anyone tried setting this up without these moldings? I just bought these roof racks and the dealership failed to tell me that the moldings were a separate purchase and I’m moving to LA in two days. Appreciate the help!

One of my screws doesnt have an alan key hole!

and if you have a mazda 6 you're screwed cause they dont make these for them even though the mounts are there, have to buy $800 aftermarket ones.

Do you know what size the allen key is? 1/8 is too big, 7/64 is too small. Same with 3 mm / 4 mm

Nice video! I installed the same ones on my 18’ HB! I’m not sure how much weight these will hold. I have only been able to find the Dynamic load rating of 165 Lbs. Have you tried carrying this much? Have you found a static load rating?
