Do you put the “front” and “back left “ labeled sides on the left side of the car despite the fact that the arrow on the label for the rack on the same sticker that is pointing to the front of the car is then pointing to the back of the car when they are mounted on the left side? Essentially, which part of the diagram should I follow... the part that says “back left” and “front left” or the diagram that has the image of the car with the arrow pointing forward which would indicate that the racks should be flipped and mounted on the other side...

Hello! The side labelled "front left" has a diagram (right next to the wording) pointing to the front left mounting point and that end goes on the front left. The "back left" has a diagram next to the wording pointing at the back left mounting point and that end goes on the back left. However, both rails have another diagram on the far right that shows a big arrow coming from the front of the vehicle to show you which end the front of the vehicle is in case you can't make it out from the diagram. I believe that is the diagram you're referring to.

My Yakima roof box needs a longer distance between the bars, is it still safe to install them in an area outside the locating holes?

Factory cross bars cannot be moved outward due to the peg fitment. If you have aftermarket crossbars as well this may be possible.

@@ZimbrickEuropean I was able to install the bars where required for my roof box. Although not in the pins it appears to be solid enough. Very poor design from Audi. Over engineered for nothing.

@@antoinepageau8336 if you say so. Keep in mind that when you don’t use the pegs the car is not aware you have a top load so it does not change the ESP to the high center of gravity program.

Hi Raytech, each torque wrench is specific to a roof bar set signified by a two digit code. The code can be found in the owners manual for your roof bar set. The parts department at your local dealership can assist with ordering the correct torque wrench if you are unsure which one to get or are unable to locate the code. The costs is roughly $30.

This is an incomplete and inaccurate video! How about mentioning that you have to line up the crossbars on the rails where the inner circular protrusions on the crossbar align with the corresponding recess on the inner rail? That is important in regulating the proper distance and ensuring proper seating. It would have saved me time if you had just mentioned that!

You literally missed showing the actual place's where they fit and how to sit the bars down before tightening. Waste of a video. I'll just follow the instructions that come with them.

You would have to take your vehicle into your local Audi dealer. They can use their master key set to determine which key you need. Then they can order you one.

Hi Zac, the Audi parts department at your local Audi dealership can assist in getting one on order for you. Consult your Audi dealer as there are many variants of this tool depending on the vehicle and year. If you still have the owners manual for the roof rack, there is a 2 digit code you'll want to reference to make sure you get the correct fit.
