Great Mod, even though for me it's the same exact effect as OptiFine (without all the features, of course). Both give me 27-35 fps

I literally couldn’t believe how much better sodium is than optifine

Side note: if you have a quite old integrated graphics, this mod isn't for you because this utilises the graphics of the computer while optifine used the CPU for that. Might help some of you!

I did what you said but I get lower fps then Optifine. I'm using the fabric loader profile and the files are in my mods folder but still, I get lower frames then optifine. How do I solve this?

With OptiFine I used to get only 27-30 fps and now I get 150-180 fps (Singleplayer) I am just so happy Thank you so so much I stopped playing singleplayer world because it was too laggy I only used to play multiplayer, it was much better than singleplayer. mine when i go into 1.16.1 it says "Could not find required mod: fabric requires {minecraft @ [~1.16.2-alpha.20.28.a]}" do you know the cause of this or what could be happening?

When I use optifine I get around 20 to 40 FPS with fancy graphics but when I use this mod I get 10 with low. I’m not sure what is happening I have checked and the mod is installed properly.

i have winrar in my laptop so i extracted both api and sodium then i pasted them in the mods folder will it effect fps?

Downloaded the jar version, ran it and... I can see it as a version but I dont see a fourth tab in the menu, nor do I experience any fps boosts, any help?

I have installed Sodium and Lithium with Fabric loader but I dont seem to get any significant fps boost. Maybe it only works on dedicated graphics cards?

Bro I m using T Launcher with Forge Optifine I m getting 150+ fps but after switching to sodium there is no fps boost it gives same as Forge Optifine

I put the files in the mod folder and when I select fabric and launch it does not show the mods and I have even checked and made sure that they where are the same version and still it did not work.

can it work with 1.19 snapshots when the full 1.19 is released? if not, how long i have to wait before that comes in Fabric API

In game nothing doing=21fps Left click to block=18fps Look down and up=15fps Walking forwards=24fps Outside of the house=11fps Add shader=Watch Burning PC

problem is, us forge users cant use it, so its basically Optifine for Forge, Sodium For Fabric

im running at only 60 fps with optifine I run at 100+ fps

I feel a need for sharing my expirience. Sorry for my kinda bad english, its not my first language. Soo lets start. I have a really bad and when i say really bad i mean a REALLY BAD pc. Specs: cpu is some intel celeron idk gpu is intel hd graphics family, ram is 4GB(2,92 usable) Windows 7. Ive had that pc for my whole life. Im 16 and I got it when I was 6. That was my first and only pc ever so far. Back then that was not a really bad pc, it was decent since i only played gta san andreas, the sims 1, some old NFS games and also a lot of flash games. Eventually my uncle got me into minecraft. I remember him saying to me and my older sister "I will install you a game called minecraft. Its a game for boys and girls" since me and my sister had a rivalship of dividing games that 'match your gender' and he installed it. It was great since back then there were only the early versions like beta 1.7 and my pc could run those versions great since that pc was up to date back then. So time has been passing and passing... Then i got into youtube around 2015. I would watch mostly minecraft youtubers since it was my favourite game, and I was in disbelief of how good their game would run. About that time I was starting to be sad. Not depressed, just sad because my game would run badly on newer versions like 1.8.9. So i got used to it. I learned to sacrifice every little detail of graphics and visuals for better performance. Even today I run all of my games at resolution of 640x480 and at the lowest settings possible. I had a friend that also had a bad 2gb ram laptop and we both loved minecraft and could relate to eachother. Some time has passed and he got a new gaming pc that could run every game that he wanted. That time was like 4 years ago. I started being even more sad and jealous because of it. Okay back to minecraft. My biggest factor in good minecraft expirience is really render distance. It was all 'aight' since I could run the game somewhat playable on 4 chunks then everything changed when 1.13 came out. It was so different. My chunks would not load on time and I would have to stop and stare into the void until the chunk would load. All other youtubers with their ultra extreme gaming pcs would run the game on 16+ chunks easily- seeing all around you, being able to spot a village or sth from a long distance and not actually have to literally bump into it while playing on 2 chunks. I have been using optifine for a couple of years then I decided to try Sodium, Lithium and Phosphor. The performance was okay(for my standards for minecraft its around 20-30 fps on 4 chunks. The chunks would generate pretty quickly as i was walking. Later the same day i wanted to play some multiplayer. Generally, multiplayer was smoother for me, but still pretty laggy with very annoying lag spikes. The only games i was enjoying playing were build battle(bc it doesnt have to depend on fps) and regular 1v1 PvP in a single arena(it would run smoothly around 60 fps) all the other games like skywars, bedwars were just annoying 15 fps with lag spikes every 10 seconds. So The most confusing thing is that i launched minecraft at version 1.8 bc i like multiplayer on 1.8 more than 1.9+. That 1.8 version had OPTIFINE installed on it. NOT sodium lithium phosphor. I joined the server and entered a build battle game. It was oddly smooth with consistent 60 fps without any lag spikes. It was extremely weird for me to expiriemce a smooth minecraft gameplay. I did not even finish the game and joined a bedwars game to test am I going crazy or my 11 year old pc just magically improved its performance by a 200%. So basiclly that was today. The same day i Downloaded Sodium... . .. etc into Minecraft but that was just for 1.16.4! I still dont know if it was just a coincidence or the mods affected the whole game not just the specific version that you install it for. So i joined bedwars and it was UNBELIEVEABLE! I could not believe that i am expiriencing a smooth bedwars gameplay on my pc. For the first time in my life i felt like an average player. Not even some crazy gamer with 2000$ pc but just a regular one that gets around 45-80 fps. I quickly invited my firend to play minecraft with these words- "wanna play some bedwars? My game just magically stopped lagging". He agreed to it and we played the whole day. I have never felt so good playing bedwars or in general playing a game on my pc. One thing that i am going to mention. It is not very easy to just upgrade my pc cause i live in an average family financially. I have alyways been hesitant about asking my parents to buy me a new pc because i would already know the answer so i stuck with what i have got. I am actually going to work this summer to get paid. My number 1 goal is to buy a new pc. Still I dont know what caused the mysteric massive boost in performance of my computer. Does the mod affect the whole game or is it something else idk.

For anyone getting a very low increase in frames- try turning vsync off. I usually get around 50fps, after installing sodium it increased to 60. Then I turned vsync off and now I'm getting over 600fps!

ty very helpful! I was only getting 100 fps with 3060 ti and 12700k which was pretty damn annoying.

Although sodium boosts your fps more than optifine, you will lose the ability to use shaders, dynamic lighting, to zoom, to have smoother grass, connected textures and a bunch more, just think of that, dont let others influence your decision

When I downloaded sodium, played with the settings and started up my world, I could phase through blocks and water was not visible. And I feel there were more fps drops. switched back to optifine in seconds. But its probably just my potato computer, so if you want to boost you're fps, go on
