Another great how to video, Ben! I know they make different soft close mechanisms. Was there a particular reason why you went with the adapter? Been looking to do something similar but wasn’t sure on what the “best” option was. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work!

Do you need to have self closing hinges in order for the damper to work properly?

Yes, there needs to be a spring in the hinge to pull it closed.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Blum Dampers. They work a whole lot better.

Are the Blum Dampners work if you don't have Blum hinges? If so, which did you purchase? I ask because of the reviews I've seen on Amazon for different versions of Blum dampners.

They won't. I have lived in multiple apartments, and had roomates in well built homes. People just lack contentiousness and consideration for others. They literally think: "How can I use the least amount of calories while conducting business in the kitchen?"
