Great job man I know you probably know this but if anyone ever has any issues removing then because they are too tight and do not want to strip them( it's happen to me before) drive the car around to get the engine at operating temp than remove them as the heat expansion helps with removing them. Of course use caution as the engine will be very hot but it saves more than to have to re thread the heads cause it happened to me once haha

You do everything very careful and clean and I like that. The only thing you are forgetting is a little grease on the Spark plugs.
@NameItBuildIt

I never put grease on the plugs. It changes the torque spec which makes them easier to tighten with same effort. They can then snap off in block. The next someone tells you to use grease, correct them 😎

Dude, you helped greatly! I bought the same plugs and my RAV now thinks it's a sports car! As you know, there's eco, reg n sport drive. The reg feels like sport! Holy shit! It may be too soon to tell but before when I would pump my music and the spare tire bass would set off 3 of my dash lights and they haven't come on since the change? Still keeping my fingers crossed for that one! But the car is alive like I've never experienced w her! Thanks again!

I didn't hear you say, but I am just going to put it out there - always do that on a COLD engine.
@NameItBuildIt
@NameItBuildIt 2 года назад
Very good point! I should have mentioned that. However, do you think when anyone goes to a dealership they wait an hour or 2 after the customer arrives to do this? No, and the reason you should is because when an engine is warm you actually tighten the plug more with the same amount of force because the metal is hot and shrinks. When it cools and expands you now have a plug that can Be over tightened and snap off in the engine when you go to pull it out. (Looking at you Triton V8s) Thanks for the comment!

I change my oil every 5,000 on my 2014 fwd(120k miles). What would you recommend me to start doing to get the most miles out of the car? And when should I get my transmission fluid checked?
@NameItBuildIt
@NameItBuildIt Год назад
Excellent! you should change your transmission fluid every 60K or when it says on the instruction manual, so it’s long overdue. At this point, I would take it to a mechanic and see what the condition of it is or check it yourself. If it’s black, just change the filter not the fluid. if it’s still red, you can change some of the fluid, and change the rest a little bit at a time. As for the rest of the car, I do spark plugs, coolant flush, diff fluid change and PCV valve every 60K. You should rotate the tires every oil change, timing belt every 90K, brake fluid flush every 2 years, air filter and cabin air filter every10K or when their really dirty sooner, and front end alignment when it’s off or every 100K. That about covers it 😎

Isn't the interval for spark plugs on a rav4 196,000km? Benefits for dping it early?
@NameItBuildIt
@NameItBuildIt Год назад
Same as anything else, new plugs work better. More power, better mileage and cleaner engine. The longer you wait to change oil, filters or equipment, the dirtier and less efficient it becomes. 😎
@Mareyes2525
@Mareyes2525 Год назад
Do you have to change it every 7 years even if you don't reach the mileage mark? Only at 55k KM but its been 7 years.
@NameItBuildIt
@NameItBuildIt Год назад
Not necessarily 7, 5 years as 15K per year after 5 years of would be 75K. You should also change oil every year even if you don’t reach 3K miles. Brake fluid very 2 years. 😎

Every RAV4 2013-2018 has the same engine EXCEPT the Hybrid. So if yours is not Hybrid they will work. Never go by any other website other than the manufacturer of the product you are buying. I’ve been using them 8 years and they are fantastic, but if you want to go factory, then by all means Denso is great also.
