In this video, I show you how to install some stainless steel braided brake lines. The rubber lines on the accord work well but I would like to upgrade them while I’m upgrading the rest of the braking system.

I would start at the banjo end of the hose to make sure it dosen't have to be twisted for a perfect fit. The other end of the hose can be rotated before you "torque" it down and that way the hose won't be twisted. Agree?

Yes, I do agree. I would also heat up the copper washers over a flame till they’re red hot, then dip them in cold water before fitting. They will seal better.

Soapy water in a spray bottle works very well for cleaning brake fluid, plus you can clean those sweet red painted calipers in the process with a rag. Avoid spraying while banjo bolts are removed.

A quick tip about brake fluid if you push the brake pedal to the floor that will push the rod inside the master cylinder and this will stop brake fluid from coming out of the hose, hold the brake pedal down with a stick or long rod.

You should’ve started on the caliper furthest from the brake master cylinder, like the right rear, then left rear, then front right and finally the front left (driver’s side) being the very last one. And bleeding after each one in the process.

First of all Mechanics and people who are actually educated and knowledgeable in the automotive industry has never bled each wheel after replacing a hose, line, wheel cylinder or caliper, Just replace whatever it is you are working on and then bleed your brakes! And secondly not all vehicles use bleeding sequence, Starting furthest from the master cylinder! And yet again your comment is just one more reason Automotive Businesses can justify their labor rate!

What kind if car was this ? You were working on good video btw best I've seen!! I have a 02 is300 and have these stoptech lines sitting in my locker and have put the job off in fear if messing up anything. But what ive seen so far on videos on brake hoses no one is really saying that you don't have to bleed the brakes if you just change out the hoses quick then there's no need to really bleed the bleeder screws! So my question is can you just change out oe stock hoses to stoptech ones and not have to mess with bleeding the brake lines? Cuz I just want to change the lines to save on labor from a dealership and then take it to them to bleed the brakes! So yeah buddy lmk if your car is an is300 cuz it looks it and if u just can achieve this job without bleeding brakes and just take it to a shop after 2 cut corners to have a shop bleed the brakes lines and do a brake flush which I believe is the one in the same thing I think 🤔 yeah lmk I also did your valve job on my valves from an 08 oddessy j35 engine to clean and polish the valves best video you have on the web bro it works and no other videos compare! I have some ill send u if u put your email on that job I did ok thanks sorry for long comment.

Nice step by step tutorial ! Very detailed. But please, put some gloves. The DOT brake fluid is corrosive. And a trick so the fluid doesn't go down the line. You need to apply a pressure on the brake pedal. Keep it pressed with a wood stick for exemple. This way, the communication between the lines and fluid tank are closed by the slider in the manifold. ;)

What you're talking about are brake HOSES - not brake lines. Brake lines are made of C-Mn steel tube when new and usually of Cu-Ni alloy when repaired. SS hoses might be an idea for rich boy cars. But the manufacture cost will be high for relatively small production volumes and so will the retail price.

I would pinch off the hose with vice grips, that way you can detach(old) and attach(new) the banjo bolt, without being in a time crunch and only losing the fluid that's past the point of the pinch off. Makes sense?

@@warmachinehksqc Hey, stainless is not stainless, its just very resistant... If you treat it like shit, even stainless will react with something and develop corrosion... It just doesnt react with so many things as regular steel does as it has additional elements ingrained in its crystalline structure that prevent other shit from ingraining there and cause the phenomenon that we call rust... But that said, there are aggressive agents that will react with steel and bump out the alloying elements from the surface layer and slowly cause minimal oxidation which again, we call rust... And im not talking about chromed steel, but alloyed steel that contains chrome within, along with other shit, not just electroplated... Its like the pick-proof locks, there aint no such thing, they just resist picking a lot better than most, but they can be made to open without a key, just as stainless is actually rust-resistant only to an extent...

+Des420 I tried all 4 different forums for mazda I even have to forum.app. so far those are dead or people who don't have the newer models. I found a site corksport and they cost $1250 per caliper plus shipping and custom fees another $500. lol. I even tried Japanese aftermarket parts and they are ridiculous in price. I know Milan busy with those gorgeous big break calipers :(
