I picked up the spring kit from Shock Therapy and it is a night and day difference for my Tracker XTR1000. Best money I've spent on my UTV for sure!!

I just installed the kit using a pair of generic spring compressors (SC), which I assume most DIYers will use. I think I learned a bit with each shock, so here is the cliff notes version (when I say top I am referencing the reservoir end of the shock - you could easily be working on them upside-down): 1) there is room to back-off the pre-load collars and gain some clearance for removing and re-installing the spring perches. Use your SCs to take a big part of the load off of the collars, then you can safely back them off. A spanner is a big help, and always clean and lubricate the threads on the shock body before you move the pre-load collars. 2) Place the SCs as close to the top of the shock as you can. That way you are compressing the upper spring more than the lower, and the uppers are softer. I started off with the SCs closer to the bottom end, but distortion caused the spring separator to bind, so I was only getting about half of the clearance I needed to get the spring perches off - the other have was between the spring and pre-load collar, because the springs were binding to the shock. 3) I left the pre-load collars all the way at the top when I installed the springs instead of setting them as shown on the video. Leave the SCs in place after re-installing the spring perch, then run the pre-load collars to the correct position. I found it easier to sight along the flat top of the spring than the lip of the spring isolator, so this was win-win (less work and better accuracy). 4) I have the benefit of a vise with rotating jaws mounted to my shop table. I did almost all of the work with the shocks horizontal, with the reservoir end clamped into the vice and a 2x6 supporting the lower shock eye. Use something between the vise jaws and the bushings in the shock eyes to prevent the jaws from damaging the bushings. I have a pair of aluminum L extrusions that I use. I've only done a couple of short test drives. I previously ran with the shocks on Medium almost all of the time. My test rides were with them set to Low, and that combo feels better than the OEM springs with the shocks on Medium. I will say that if you are fairly well convinced that you want to do the springs AND the RIS shock tuning, do it in one fell swoop. Or better yet, have ST do it.

So I have discovered that the passenger rear shock reservoir adjustment clicker has no clicks. All 3 others clearly can feel the 3 different positions and tough to turn. But this 1 reservoir it spins very very easy 1 finger easy. And you can not feel any clicks through the 3 positions. Any thoughts? I did a search and can not find replacement shocks or reservoir anywhere. These shocks for wildcat xx don't even exist according to fox website

More than likely the adjuster pin is broken. Just needs a new adjuster. Send the shock to us. We have them in stock. Call the shop for details. Thank you

Just purchased wildcat xx kit from you. Rears installed. This 2020 has had a passenger side lean from the start. Adjusted factory set so preloads on passenger side were slammed down 1" further and it still had a slight lean. After installing your set the lean is still there but about a half an inch less vs factory. So I am going to push the passenger preloads down 1/2 further than driverside. No one else seems to encounter this that I can find. Only have 1000 miles on it. Is this normal to happen? My dealer told me arctic cat told them they designed it that way to lean to passenger slightly but this is beyond slightly and who makes a car lean? Not buying that at all. Any thoughts?

Not heard of your issue before. Our XX does not lean. I don’t know any manufacture that designs lean into a UTV. Pointless if you have two people. I think you have a frame or arm issue. Unbolt a front and rear sway bar link and measure before you change pre load. A bent bar will cause lean as well.

Could i just set the ride height about a half inch higher and let it settle in hopefully close to the right ride height?

Just curious; why has the Wildcat not installed remote reservoirs on the rear shocks like the others?
@auknix

They have remote reservoirs. They use a cast bridge instead of a braided hose like other models.

My previous hobby was sports car racing. The suspension stroke is just a fraction of what is found in off-roading, so perhaps it isn't as big a deal in off-roading, but this is what road racing has evolved to: As the shock travels, the fluid pressure in the passage between the body and the valving in the reservoir changes. Hose will expand and contract with those pressure changes and the valving will see a slightly lower peak pressure (the hose expands), and it will be sustained slightly longer (and then it contracts). Hard-mounting the reservoir eliminates that "slinky" effect.

Why did my 2021 xx rear dividers come installed upside down and resting on the collars? The car rides on the big spring 100 percent of the time. I looked at other cars at the dealer and they were all put together the same. Thank you

If that was from the factory then they were installed wrong. You should take them off and flip them over.
