Just want to say that the video was very well done. I hate watching assembly videos where there is no detail in the showing/explanation of how it comes together. These types of videos have to be done in a way where you have to explain as if the person has never done this before. Great job Apex

Just installed this on the competitor. Reduced the trigger pull from 4# down to 2.9#!! Freaking awesome. No creep at all, crisp break and the red trigger looks amazing. The reset is the biggest down fall. Not very tactile.

Great video and very helpful. Now I have an outstanding crisp break that matches my polymer 2.0 long slide. Well done Apex!

Had apex on two of my M&P 2.0s and had lifht primer strikes. It was installed by a competent gun smith.

I had a nightmare of a time using my vice to push the trigger pin in. I actually had to hit it a few times with the punch to start the pin. Enough times that I then had to wedge the trigger bar in to capture the pin. I was so afraid I was going to break it because I had full force on the vice lever and nothing! Eventually it budged but I couldn't get it close enough to flush so back to the punch method, finally it went in

I'm no gunsmith by any measure so I'm probably going to take my M&P to a professional to install my new Type 3 trigger after reading your troubles! Glad you got it sorted out.

Smart! It’s very straightforward now that I did it. Easier to take it in if you’re on the fence!

Agreed, i had to put so much pressure on my vice to get it to budge. It made a noise when it finally moved. I thought for sure it broke but thankfully did not.

Will you be releasing a similar instructional video for the polymer frame M&P M2.0 or is this video basically the same?

Is there an updated blog post with the spring weight / trigger weight combinations? The only blog post I can find is from Nov 2017.

I have a question. After installing the right Apex trigger into a S&W Shield; just the trigger, I noticed after I got done, and put it all back together, everything worked like a dream, especially when I added the trigger spring kit from Mcarbo, and did all that polishing on the trigger bar, plunger and the striker bar. Saved me about $55 dollars doing this. When I got done I took it and was going to show my son the polishing work after he felt the great trigger pull. After he felt that nice trigger pull, I locked the slide back, pulled down the disassembly lever, pulled back the slide to disengage the slide lever, let the slide go forward, squeezed the trigger to release the slide, and it wouldn't release the slide. I tried several times, and squeezing the Apex trigger would not release the slide. I had to lock the slide back and push down on the sear deactivation lever that the shields have just to get the barrel off. I installed a HYVE trigger on a S&W Shield before, and squeezing that trigger released the slide just fine. Anyone else have this problem with just installing just the Apex trigger? And just a note, I used the Mcarbo spring kit and did all that polishing with the HYVE trigger as well. Anyone?

Do you have a magazine disconnect? EDIT: on second thought, it work ed before which makes this issue more odd

This is the sort of thing that our customer service people are there to help with. It's best to contact them for support of this nature. WE DO NOT recommend using the other guy's springs in conjunction with our parts. We drop test all of our products in the configurations we recommend customers use them in. Installing the "other guys" parts with ours may make the pistol fail drop testing. We can't offer full support if it's failing to work correctly when other people's parts are installed. The first thing our CS people will tell you to do is drop the factory springs back into the pistol and see if it still has issues.

My trigger bar does not actuate the trigger. 2.0 metal. Looks just like the video here. No reset no lifting of the sear? You do not test this one in this video like the polymer 2.0 video, SO not sure where This has gone wrong. UPDATE - I left the trigger stop in.
