In this video I show you how to install the Mabett Mud Flaps on your 2021+ Ford Bronco.
In my opinion, these are the best looking mud flaps you can currently purchase for your 2021+ Ford Bronco. They are a simple, NO DRILL installation, you don't need to cut the mud flaps at all to fit around your rock rails or OEM side steps. They are a quick and easy bolt-on solution.
They are both very functional, and very well made. You can purchase the kit through the link below:

Great install video, I just received mine yesterday and the install has changed slightly. Included are 15 stainless bolts and 15 black flat washers. The long bars for the rear flaps are now threaded. The bolts and washers install through the rear mudflap and screw into the long bar.

Thank you for watching and thanks for taking the time for feedback too, I appreciate it. It’s been 18 months now since I installed these mud flaps so I’m not surprised that Mabett have updated the installation hardware. I know they had some issues with the initial batches that came out. I work frequently with Mabett and their products and hope to have some new product installation videos here soon. Thanks again for watching, really appreciate it!

No need to remove the front fenders, risking potential damage. I used a stubby screwdriver to un-screw the plastic rivets, and an allen socket to tighten the screws from the kit. Only did the fronts, looks like on the rears removing the fenders is a must.

Thanks for the feedback Daniel and thanks for watching. Glad the method you used worked out for you. The fender flares are designed to pop off and on without damage, and with this being an installation video, I wanted to make sure that the install was easily visible as well. Mabett also recommends to remove the fender flares. But you are right, you don’t have to remove them. Thanks for watching!

Thanks so much, appreciate it. I didn’t use any threadlock on ours and they have been fine for around 18 months, but I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt. As long as you don’t intend to take them off for off roading purposes, then I say go for it! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN 2 месяца назад
Hey @anthonygallo3576 - I haven't had that experience, and I don't know exactly what the size is unless I take mine apart and measure it. However, there are a variety of retaining clips available in different sizes. Assuming this is the part you are after, there are kits online. This one looks to be nice quality and comprehensive, but maybe have a look around for something like this? amzn.to/4dLfNgh Hope that helps!

My 10 Phillips head retaining clips WONT CATCH AND UNSCREW!!!! NOW WHAT?
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN 3 месяца назад
@Thatcntrygitl1 - Aren’t they fun! They are a pain! So there’s two things you can do. One is to heat up a flat head screwdriver and press it into the screw head twice to make an ‘X’ for your Philips head screwdriver. That might help. Second option which I’ve had to use is to get the edge of an exacting knife under the edge of the screw and the casing on the outside. You can get a little purchase on it and then you can force your screwdriver in there and turn it out. Patience is key, they do come out, but they are a real pain. Hope that helps! And thank you so much for watching, really appreciate it!

Best value in mud flaps for the Bronco; however, go to the hardware store and buy stainless steel allen screws and washers and discard the supplied Mabett items. (they are prone to rust stains)
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
So Mabett have been sending out upgraded hardware with these. You are correct, the initial batch had issues with the hex bolts and washers rusting, but rectified that with a revision in the hardware used. You can also reach out to Mabett and they will send the updated hardware as well.

I got mine today, front set only , 15 steps in the mabbot instrument and came with two large peices of felt. Is it possible that they changed the flap in the last 30 days since you made the video? Thanks
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
The felt is used as a buffer between the outside of the mudflap and the running boards. If you don’t have running boards, you won’t need the felt. If you do have running boards, then you cut out some shapes that will work for you. I cut a 1.5”x 3” rectangle for the area and stuck it on there. Hope that helps!

@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN 5 месяцев назад
If you’ve seen any of my other videos, you’ll know that I am British (the accent was a big giveaway here), and the Bronco was also designed by a British designer, Paul Wraith. So those two factored in the Union Jack on one side and then my family here in the USA is American, so we had the American flag on the other side. They have both since been replaced by the Bronco script letters! Thanks for watching and consider subscribing if you haven’t already!

Since you mentioned OEM side steps, will these work with aftermarket sidesteps such as GoRhino? I have the WT trim and want to make sure there’s no rubbing.
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
Great question. They ‘should’ work just fine as the OEM steps appear to be the ones that sit the most forward and people were cutting them and moving them back for other brands of flaps to work. You shouldn’t have any issues at all with your suggestion. Good luck!

Thank you for watching the video and glad it helped you. I really appreciate it. When I recorded the video it was with version 2 of the hardware that they provided. It was still black but didn’t have the rust issues that the previous hardware had. I wasn’t aware that they have changed out to silver hardware now. I’m sure that is purely to mitigate rusting issues as well but I can see how it can be annoying, especially from the rear view of the Bronco.

Do you need to remove the crash bars for installation if you have them?
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
Great question and thanks for asking. These mud flaps work for Broncos that both HAVE the crash bars AND the ones that DO NOT have crash bars, such as the Sasquatch models. They are designed to conform around the crash bars if they are there, and to mount securely if the crash bars are not there. No need to remove the crash bars if you have them. The front felt clips, on a brand new badlands would not remove as they did for you. They were absolutely fused in place, Turning them immediately ruined the plastic screw philips slot. I had to pry them out slightly and snip the fasteners. Even the ones I'd cut free to remove wouldn't thread backwards to back out. They'd just spin, and if any pressure was put on them to try to giver them some grab, the plastic slot would strip Massive pain. The tabs holding them in place are aluminum, so they bend as soon as you look at them. Also, I don't like the metal on paint aspect to the holding clips. It's just poor form. The re-use of plastic push pin tabs is a terrible idea by anyone's standards, and some of these are some unusual lengths to find. I found some replacements in my kit that would do, but using fabric holding holes as actual mounting solutions is not going to work long term. The fact that these are holding mud flaps, is for me, a problem waiting to happen. That re-used clip to hold the flap at the correct angle is a weak and terrible mounting point, combined with two aluminum tabs directly connected to the aluminum fender panel... That is going to tear out. The re-used clip is tiny. It's also the only mounting point that they could have actually used a plastic self cutting screw on. I really like the fitment, the quality of the item is really high, and I'm using them, but this is a badly implemented idea purely because of the front mounting location. The rear is hefty as all hell, with it's own bracket entirely suspended from the tow hook bolt location. That's why, even though it too uses another fender clip location on an aluminum panel, the main bolting location is sturdy enough for that to not be the main holder of stress, and as such less of a future problem waiting to happen. In short... Yes rear, no front. I also notice from reviews how they've gone through a few revisions because of rusting on the bolts. The kit I had has silver bolts. Not a cool thing to do with black hardware. I believe they're stainless steel, but... I feel like this kit needs revisiting, and those clip mounting points thought out again. They get great reviews on Amazon, but when I posted a question asking if anyone had felt that mounting clip was a problem, I got dozens of replies saying yes, with notes on what they did to hold it better than a re-used clip, or a replacement because they had to toss the broken old one. I really like Mabett, but this one is sloppy. Appreciate your video install all the same. The instructions were rough going, with angles that were hard to make out, making your video a great help.
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN 11 месяцев назад
Thank you for the feedback on the video, I appreciate it. The set used for the install video were a prototype set, so I do understand that they have gone through some revisions. I hate the Ford mounting pins, they are so annoying to remove and reuse. I haven’t had an issue with the one at the bottom just holding the flap in place, it is sturdy enough, and has been for almost a year now, in my case at least. I had recommended some mounting bracket ideas that bolted directly to the running board for Outer Banks models, but nothing came of that. Thanks again for the feedback and for watching my videos!

I didn’t know they changed them to be honest. I know the first edition of these they had issues with the hardware rusting so they quickly changed them to a different type, but they were still black and those are the ones in the video. Had no idea that they changed the hardware to silver.
