The Awnings work fantastic in a downpour if you set them up properly. In a big rain event lower one of the vertical poles to create a run-off path for the rain. The harder the rainfall the more of a steep pitch you need to make for the runoff. The Prinsu awning brackets will make for a definite fit. Otherwise, the L brackets will work with a spacer to clear the Prinsu side rails. 2 brackets are necessary for the 8ft awning.
The hardware that comes with the awning will not work to install the L bracket to the cross bars. You will need to pick up either nut plates, or t bolts to mount the L bracket to the crossbars. Hope that helps.
Just goit my awning todayt along with a set of Atlas racks, stoked! It would be nice though if the awning came with a set of tee-nuts and spacers to be able to instal them on any channel rack or platform as these are basically universal if I'm not mistaken? Looks like a trip to Homedepot is required after all. Lets see how they both hold up to the elements when in use!

@@Ironman4x4America Mine was the exact same. Unrolled it, no accessories inside the awning, either. Headed out this week, without the ability to use my awning I suppose. Terrible. I already filed a note on your "contact us"; unfortunately, the number you listed above gave an out-of-office message.
