Do you recommend anything to protect the paint job underneath the mounting points ?

Hello. The contact points include the rubber bases and the rubberized metal door frame brackets, both are designed to protect the vehicle's finish. It is advisable to remove the rack when not being used for extended periods and care for the finish as normal, wash and wax. Thanks!

Hello. The plug is used in whichever foot does not have a tool inserted, all the feet should have either the plug or a tool. Thanks!

@@rackattack what if you don't have either the bolt plug or the acutight tool? (I bought a used set without those pieces). Can't you just use the appropriate sized allen wrench to make it tight enough? What is the purpose of leaving the acutight tool and plug in the bracket? Thanks

How do you lift the tensioner level if its snug? I tried lifting it but wont budge. Can I use a tool? I don't want to break it.

@@kiking15 depends on which feet you have. There’s several different feet depending on what car it is. You can try an Allen key insert it into the hole and loosen it. Should be pretty tight. You really need to know what model you have. Look up on their site

How many acutight tools does the kit have? And is it necessary?

Two AcuTight tools are included and two plugs. A standard 5mm hex can replace the tool for installation, however, without torque indicator on the handle there will be no gauge for proper torque. Also a handle or plug must be left in each fastener to serve as a safety to prevent the fastener from loosening.

Hello. Yes, at first glance the brackets looks like gloss painted metal, however, the brackets are completely dipped in a Pebax rubber coating which is specifically formulate to grip and protect the door frame finish. Thanks!

I've the older 2014 Traverse 480 clamps/feet. Do they have this rubber coating too? The metal on metal concerns me and am wondering of a good workaround

which kit contains the slide scale?

Is there any difference between the Rapid 753 and 460R foot packs? They look the same.

Extremely helpful and precise. Only two things differed from instruction manual. 1) Stickers should be positioned inside the torque area instead of outside for future use. 2) The manual says the under bar cover strips should cover the endcap retention tab. Both of those are fairly minor observations. Video complemented instruction manual nicely.

Nope, the bars are correct. The bars are similar to an airplane wing but with a kammback design: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kammback
