KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas 2-stroke TPI motorcycles have a common issue from the factory where the idle is not very adjustable and set too low, which leads to the bike stalling in certain conditions. Replacing the idle screw on your TPI is a must-do mod that solves this issue by allowing you to fine tune your idle and get your bike running better. In this video, Charles shows how to fix this problem by installing the Tusk TPI Idle Adjustment Screw on a 2021 KTM 250 XC dirt bike. This process will be the same for all KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas 2-stroke TPI motorcycles.

on my 2021 TE250i (Husky) i left the throttle body on and turned it inside towards the left side on using the other method you find here on youtube. Then used the uncure even though it took about 2 days of more than a few soakings of the screw to get it out. That way not taking the throttle body off you can turn the throttle body and get the hex/allen wrench in there.

Glad to hear it worked on your bike! Our bike was too stubborn, I let it soak on it's side for three days and about 16 applications of "un-cure" and it didn't budge. We've had mixed results, but always a great option if you can get it to work! -Charles

I have a 2023 ktm 250 xcw tpi and I think I need this air screw mod. My bike does not hold idle anymore. Do the new TBI models also have this issue. Do they also need the air screw mod ?
