I'm a Mac user and switch to Linux (Ubunto) and never been happier. The only sad part is that unlike Apple or Windows, there's very few users and tutorial about Linux and mostly, Virtual Machine. I would like to see more tutorial about Linux usage as a Host and how it is also good as Mac or PC for personal, or daily computer. Maybe create a video on how using Ubunto on a day to day, and review computer that comes with pre-installed Linux. This might help grow the community. Again - thank you for having this video.
Hello. I've installed Ubuntu 24.04 on an older HP G62 Notebook and it won't open the AppCenter...? Then I installed EdUbuntu the latest version hoping it will be fully operational, but still, can't access AppCenter...? Can you please give me a solution to this matter. Thank you for your help and generosity with your Linux channel. Be Blessed and Successful in all your actions. Salutations from France.
It might be a topic you consider too newbie but someone who has never been on Ubuntu or any type of Linux before might appreciate you giving them a tour of the App Center and its features, because the first thing they will want to do after installing Linux is get the software they want.
Alright mine gets to the erase disk option then after i hit enter it skips to the username page and after i finish the install it doesnt actually boot to ubuntu just my boot menu page with no usable option Lenovo t420s
The video seems ok at the beginning but then he didn't mention how to download it to a flash drive and reboot the pc from there, I don't want to delete windows just jet before I can run Ubuntu in this old HP EliteBook 8570p. Maybe my laptop is not compatible because it is very old.
I’m new to non-Apple computers. How does one install this? Can I install it on a Mac? If I have to get a PC, does it first have to run Windows to then install Ubuntu?
I'm a brand new Linux user. I tried Ubuntu 24.04 yesterday. The icons were all massive so I changed the scaling from 200% to 100%. It left a black box underneath the window I had open and some flickering effects on screen. I eventually managed to clear the graphical glitches and then tried to install Chrome browser. It wasn't found in the app store and when I tried downloading and running the Deb file from the official site I was left staring at a whole load of files. I don't think Linux is for me if this is what I have to put up with 😢
You should use 22.04 LTS. It still lets you install deb packages. I'm currently running it and it's the best LTS version I have ever used. Wait for 24.04 to get some updates and then install it. Also it's been around for two years now and it's really stable
use something like balena etcher to flash a ubuntu.iso onto a USB which you boot on whatever you're trying to download it on. download the ubuntu iso from the official webstie and then flash the iso onto a usb.
some swap is nice to run because some programs insist on reserving memory space - having a swap gives the kernel an alternative to filling up actual memory with 0's dont go overboard - diminishing returns; the first gig or two tho the kernel makes good use of in my experience
I've had no luck overcoming this error too. It seems to be a very common problem with this version of Ubuntu. I'm going to try installing 23.10 and see if I can overcome this error.
Would love to see a video on Active Directory, LDAP would be great to see. I've tried to get it working a couple of times for my home systems, but have so far not met with success 😔
My experience installing Ubuntu 24.04 on Virtualbox is beurk. Less than minute after login in, it make Virtualbox crash every time. I did not have the intention of installing it right away, but testing is now kind of impossible. i am keeping Ubuntu 23.10 until the end of it's cycle.
@@Daltonson The weirdest thing is that it's giving me an error message that Virtualbox is trying to access part of the memory that cannot be written but when I go look further it's related to "nvlddmkm" which is related to NVIDIA. Anyway, it's never recommended to switch right away to a new OS. It's better to let the courageous early adopters find all the bugs. I am sticking to the 23.10 version until July. Have a good weekend!
Awesome Thank you for Sharing! 💯✴ Don't forget the new beginner's too Linux! The First 25 Essential Tweaks you have to do after installing a new Distro, Like setting up a firewall and so on. (I know you have one for Debian 12.)
@@LearnLinuxTVhe's right i already knew so wasnt hard for me but someone not as tech savvy wont havent any knowledge of how to even get to boot options. Most people don't even know what boot options is. How about instead of trying to belittle your viewers you accept criticism and make a better video. Should be ashamed to have as many subs as you do but act like this.
