Before you buy the kit try loosening the hardware and oiling it if the spring is still intact it should work usually extension ladders are kept outside even if they’re aluminum they build up a little bit of rust around the hardware and seize up, by taking them apart and oiling them you could get them back in working order. 👍🏻
Thank you for taking the time to let us know, I just ordered the kit and was watching this video and scrolled down and read your comment, I sprayed some lube and moved it around a lil and it worked perfectly, I canceled the order, you just saved me $35, THANK YOU
I know this is a 2 year old video but your video may help may save me a few dollars. The rung lock you used as a replacement was a Werner model 28-11. Is that the rung lock prescribed as a replacement or did you use it because it appeared to be one that would work.

I have the same old locks on my ladder but the Warner locks would not fit Ladder is old and I do not know company which made it. 2 rungs are about 5.5 inches across
Mine are similar in size also but the design is much different than these new upgraded style have you had any luck finding the replacement I'm tempted to go to American ladders and scaffolds in my area see what they can match up
Thanks for watching my video! The holes are in a different location on the new locks. You may like my other videos. Just type Lsailor1 in the RU-vid search bar. Like them? Subscribe for the latest! Best, The Sailor.
