Welcome back! I finally tackled a wi-fi thermostat at my own house after having it sitting in a box for two years. This is a pretty easy project for anyone to do. It took me about 30 minutes start to finish. You can control this model from your phone. It has a ton of features and was on sale for $99. So far I have no complaints with it. After spending figure why my smart thermostat doesn’t power. After seeing your video about the C wire need to connected to furnace. fixed it. I love ppl like you making video like this for ppl like me not handy man ❤

Could I use this without WiFi as well just in case the WiFi goes out on the router

If your wifi goes out your furnacw and AC will still work. You wont be able to use the app to control it from your phone.

Thanks for info...I got the same thermostat Honeywell since I'm new to installing this Where do I put the RH wire to I currently have it plug to RC terminal I'm noticing the unit is blowing out cold air vs hot air. Should I be putting the RH wire in R terminal or in the jumper loop I hope all this make sense. Thanks again for the help

That may be a different issue. Check the manual for the wiring diagram. The only wire i had to connect or do anything with was the C wire. This is wired to a forced air furnace also.

You have to add a wire for it to work. That is going to be the power wire.

I have one unit 2 white wires, one of them connected to the c terminal, do i just put the blue wire on it ?

The blue has to be connected to the c terminal and to the thermostat

Just purchased this and my husband connected it....been using it for about 2 weeks now and even set up a schedule. However, just noticed that the time is off....and we need to fix it but ....can't seem to figure this easy part out. The directions clearly say to press on the time and a "set up time/change date" will show up on the screen but does not. It looks like I have the exact same one as the one you are working on.....help...

You may want to try disconnecting and reconnecting it to the wifi. You can try connecting it to the app with your phone also and they may update it. Or restore back to factory default settings and enter everything in again. Hopefully this helps! Dont forget to subscribe to my channel!

Hi, I can’t find my c terminal. I opened up my furnace and found two blue wires that were not connect to anything. The other 4 wires are twisted to each other according to color. Any ideas what I’m possibly doing wrong?

Is the blue wire in the wall where the thermostat is located? That is where you'd find it to connect it to the Thermostat, then conenct the other blue end to the furnace . The C isn't connected to the furnace.

Well just came home-was working very well first week and now SCREEN BLANK no power…switch off all power-pulled off unit…switch power back on put back on wall and NOTHING…any idea??

Check to make sure your getting power to the thermostat. Make sure its tight into the mount also. Check to make sure a wire didn't come loose.

Can you use password protected feature that you can turn heat on or off using phone/Tablet while you are away like at work or out of town, so no one can turn heat on or off even adjust the temp? I was thinking on getting honeywell home rth9585wf1004 wi-fi smart color thermostat

You can use your phone or tablet to adjust the temp from anywhere as long as your house has wifi while you are away. I don't know if you can password protect or lock it out.

can humidifier be wired to it?

The humidifier should be wired to the furnace. But this specific thermostat monitors the humidty in the house.

The ONLY thing I needed was to see how to separate the back of the unit from the front of the new Honeywell and he skipped that. Mine came in the box attached.

You should have showed all the steps, for a person that has no experience in changing this. Watching you do it step by step, especially the wire connections would have been a better video.

why dont they have battery backup so you dont have to program everything back in again..... i will look elsewhere, thanks anyway....

You dont have to program everything back in unless the power gets disconnected from the unit. Even in the event of a power loss.

@zr1ne I don't know that exactly. I get frequent outages, too. But it always powers back up and remembers my settings.

We have a Wifi Thermostat I’ve never used it since it’s been installed just came with the new system .

Surprisingly we use it all the time. When we travel I turn it out down. When we are on our way back then I turn it back to the schedule from my phone. Pretty cool.
