Interestingly I installed Win11 on version 7.0 of VirtualBox on an 8 year old DELL Inspiron laptop Intel I7 running Linux Mint 21 and did not get a notice that Win11 would not run. It installed without issue but then who knows what might happen further down the road. However, I have Win10 running on a much more powerful 8 year old Alienware gaming desktop also with an Intel I7 that keeps griping that it's no good for Win11. It wants TPM and Secure Boot. So for grins I may back it all up and try this trick shot on that system and see if it blows everything up. By the way your instructions were very concise and clear. Thanks!
First attempt to boot I was loaded into UEFI Interactive shell v2.2. If any one as the same Issue go into the settings then system section under extended features uncheck enable efi special then save the change. start your virtual machine again this will boot your windows 11 installation.
Just to add, I manage to add the registry key even after the "Install" screen. My VM was skipping it for some reason. I added the registry key at windows edition selection screen, 7:14, then proceeded with my install.
@5:56 help please!! I downloaded the microsoft 11 file and it's in my downloads folder as a Disc Image File but when we go into the storage settings to select the ISO file, I can't see it - even if I select all files. What should I do??
for some reason, the virtualbox boots up, then says ''setup is starting'' then it gives me a message that says ''Windows cannot read the setting from the unattended answer file.''
Mine says "The virtual machine failed to boot. That might be caused by a missing operating system or misconfigured boot order. Mounting an operating system install DVD might solve this problem. Selecting an ISO file will attempt to mount it after the dialog is closed." edit: Okay so i pressed random shit and it somehow worked.
@@DemocracyOfficerKeeganIt’s not a hardware problem. Mine’s giving me the same error even though it’s got 20 GB of memory, 160 GB of storage, 10 CPU threads, and all the video memory I could give it.
I tried it with windows XP, but it still says: "FATAL: No bootable medium found! System halted." I also used a .ISO file, what a waste of storage. Edit: nvm it works
I've got a problem: every time when i start the virtual machine, it pops up for a second and then it crashs and closes again. Does anybody know how to fix this?
For some reason I can`t fullscreen it. I inserted the additional cd image, and installed it in the win11, but when trying to fullscreen it doesn`t work. Checked in setting in win11 and the options for display stop at 1200. Any ideas?
