In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how to install Windows 11 on a PC even if your CPU is not officially supported. Officially, Windows 11 requires an Intel 8th Generation and beyond CPU. You also need TPM 2.0. If you try to upgrade with an older CPU or TPM 1.2, you'll get an error message that prevents you from upgrading. Basically, you need a new PC to run Windows 11. You have two options: (1) You can continue using Windows 10 another 4 years through October 2025. Alternatively, you can (2) upgrade to Windows 11 now using a workaround published by Microsoft. In this video, we walk through the workaround offered by Microsoft.
Download the Windows 11 ISO:
www.microsoft....
Registry Updates: - Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup - Check if you already have a value for AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU - If you don't have this yet, right click and pick New - DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the value AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU - Double-click on the new value you created, and enter 1 into the Value data field. - Hit OK and close the registry editor.
