A PCIe USB 2.0 card will work during Win 7 install, the board detects the EHCI controller alongside the on-board XHCI. Installing Win 7 using DVD, I use the USB card for keyboard an mouse.
Hi. Maybe I'm a little late on this but I really like to install Win 7 on my z390 mobo as well. But the drivers you add at 20:40 are sadly not longer available through that website. Any chance to get them on a alternative way? Thanks in advance and kind regards. 🙂
Easier method is using Intel recommended Gigabyte tool which incorporated both USB and nvme onto custom bootable stick ISO. Easy peezie! Fyi I first had to disable bios secure boot.
@@blagodariovlefils6216 go to gigabyte web PG go to support there and download tool that creates a custom W7 boot IS0.file or image, that contains required USB driver as well as ssd/m2 drivers then do a bios boot on your W7 pc which must be a clean install on its own drive. You will need W7 install disk or iso. version. Must boot IS0. from your dvd drive or USB still using the iso.file that the gigabyte tool creates. On my W10 pc I had to select OFF boot secure mode as when ON it will defeat all your efforts to install custom gigabyte isoW7 on your PC. Remember, use separate drive for W7, not same drive as W10, assuming you want dual bootable W10 and W7, and must be clean install.
I sure wish my X79 DARK had a PS/2 port. The USB can be touch and go sometimes with it. And the lack of a direct IRQ from a PS/2 port to the CPU can add to the issues. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate from a USB stick, though it usually takes a couple of attempts to get the install going. I do use a USB 2.0 port for it, vs a USB 3.0 port. And this is installing to an OCZ RevoDrive3 480GB PCI-e x4 card. Great guide, Luumi!
I just use a 3rd party USB 2.0 PCIE card and a Win7 Bootdrive using M$ Win7 utility. Startech Brand specifically. Allows for KB and Mouse during install and I also use one of the ports for the USB Image stick as well. Haven't found a newer platform this way hasn't worked on yet.
Hi, i just upgrades my MB to a Gigabyte Aorus Z390, and i9-9900K cpu. Using my old ssd with windows 7 already installed on it. Does it work to purchase a 3rd party USB 2.0 PCIE card for my Gigabyte Aorus Z390. And then get the drivers? Or do I need to reinstall windows 7 cuz i Have new MB
I just use the gigabyte windows 7 USB creator, it slipstreams the nvme and usb drivers into the ISO. Works for non gigabyte motherboards also like ASUS and Asrock. ASUS has a similar program but that one is much worse and never works. This way you’re doing it seems a bit convoluted, no offense meant. NTlite is useful for customizing and removing unneeded features from an ISO though. And integrating WiFi drivers and video drivers etc.
@Luumi. Thanks for the how-to. I'm sucking all similar vids so I can use my brand new z390 board. When you loaded a package in the Analyze button became active. If you selected it you would see that there is a warning attached to that update package regarding boot loops. Thanks again!
I have a z390 motherboard but it doesn't have a ASMedia USB controller, it only has the Intel one. Does anyone know where to get Intel USB 3.1 Windows 7 drivers that work? I've tried like 20 different drivers and no one seems to have ones that work.
Installing windows7 to uefi class 3 laptop is almost easier than this. Uefi class3 needs the gpu drivers integrated (ofcourse you need usb3 and nvme drivers slipstreamed to the .iso also) only thing is that you need to disable the vga drivers ( using cmd to disable vga.sys and few other small things) before the second phase of windows7 installation starts. ( after first reboot ) because uefi class3 devices lacks the support for int10 emulation thus pc freezes when you first see the windows 7 animated boot logo. Also it needs to be gpt boot. Mbr is not supported for obvious reasons.
Any chance I could get the iso's of your stripped down 7 and xp os's? im trying to get my ln2 bench all set up for the different hwbot benches. On this exact board, z390 dark.
@@LuumiJuhani yea I'm going to. Where I have been getting ln2, I talked with them last dewar fill, they will deliver a 180 ltr tank and get contract pricing. So it will be worth it to join your patron discord. I've been paying $2 a liter for so long and I couldn't bench as often as I'd like to, now I can!
@@LuumiJuhani well I've tried everything to install win 7, nothing works. Tried integrating the drivers, multiple versions of them. 48hrs now of trying. Guess I have to buy optical drive and DVDs
Hey m8, cool video Can you do a shorter guide of how to get the USB drivers on to an already installed rig? I just upgraded to a Z390 and i9-9900K. With Windows 7 already installed on my old ssd. I also have a dvd-copy for that windows 7.
I got Win 7 working and LAN works after installing driver. How to get an Intel AC8265 Win 7 compatible WiFi network adapter working on a Win10 Aorus Z390 Pro WiFi motherboard, which came with an Intel AC9560 preinstalled? I can't get the 8265 to work even though the drivers are installed successfully.
Hey can anyone help me so im on windows 7 with only 4 usb 2 ports on my msi mpg z390 gaming plus mobo and i can't find any usb 3.1 drivers can anyone give me a link?
Could you show every 10th generation core i3 to i9 cpu that will work on windows 7? Also both NVidia and AMD graphics cards that still have drivers for windows 7.
@@awakenedsoul2638 yup i installed it on a kabylake 8th gen dell laptop as well. even i have drivers for a 11th gen lrocket lake (self modded graphics driver)
@@awakenedsoul2638 i didn't program the driver. what i did is downloaded the oldest driver which use to support windows 7 along with windows 10 and edited the .inf file and .dll files after so many workarounds which i experimented. also downloaded one forced driver for 8th to 11th gen laptop from driver pack (which wasn't working 3d failure) and again remodified the same and made it completely support.
@@robertpatinson2258 That is a complicated thing to do. I plan to build one day the fastest Intel and AMD CPU with ATI and Nvidia Graphics card windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP, 7, 8 and 10 once 10 gets old. Back to 7, did you Install 7 Ultimate x64? You mean you downloaded the oldest driver for the mobo that is compatible for 7 then some drivers for 10 and you mixed the .inf and .dll files of 7 and 10 to make the mobo drivers work? BUT 3D GAMES AND OTHER SOFTWARE THAT USES 3D DOES NOT WORK? Did I understand it right?
Pls help , im trying for a long time but im stuck on installation screen and i can't control mouse and keyboard.. (i didn't have ps/2 devices) , pls help
I got an error message in the USB program saying that it could not find a master boot sector. I tried their formatting tool and it seems like it’s working, but I won’t know until it finishes.
USB is much faster than DVD in terms of read speeds (for the matter of installing an OS). Don't know the raw numbers though, but I'm sure googling is gonna give some details in return. Also, very little people use DVD nowadays, and it is more likely that they have a USB stick around rather than a DVD drive.
also I tried rufus it doesn't work with an official iso from microsoft's site which like you said all video had no f*cking drivers natively like it should have. it should have generic drivers just till you get to the update center at least.
Followed the video step by step.. no luck sadly, mouse and keyboard don't respond.. but I promise this is because of some BIOS setting.. Luumi if you know which one it is, please reply.. EDIT forgot crucial part, my motherboard is ASUS Prime Z390-p
I have this question two. I eventually managed to install it by using a tool that introduced USB 3.0 and NVME drivers, but the installation is not complete because there’s a pile of stuff under PCIe that aren’t installed, meaning I still gave no mouse or keyboard and the VGA looks strange. I’m currently using an on-screen keyboard which I brought up under accessibility settings. Not great!
After *Hours* of *Rage Quit* I did all of this with an *Integrate 7 Script.* and Remodified with all the *drivers* and *updates* until *"Nov 2021"* to a *Window's 7 Ultimate ISO* burned to *DVD* Done all the steps on My "Rogue Strix 17 GL703GE" through "American Megatrend Bios" The Bios mode is automatically set to "UEFI" Secure Boot Disabled Fast Boot Disabled Legacy Support Disabled Primary Boot My Optical Blu-Ray DVD Drive And it's still the same problem. All I get is a Windows 7 reanimated logo coming together with a *Red Glitch Bar* and the it *Freezes* UPDATE: Now I realized something, that out of all this *Colossal* Clusterfuck. That My Asus Rogue *"American Megatrend Bios"* doesn't have a *Legacy Boot* option to switch from *UEFI* the *default* Bios, that is also in the *CD-Rom* Drive installation. My other *HPNV Laptop* and *Asus Rogue 2010* had this *option* to *switch from Legacy to UEFI* option.
