As long as the lumber /span can handle it, can the 6x6 and 2x6 brackets take the weight of two adults say 350-400lbs collectively? Would afford a nice view for us.

Our brackets have been engineered to have a load capacity of 750 lbs per cavity. However, the load-bearing ability of the wood changes from build to build because each customer uses their own type of wood. We cannot give you a recommendation on how much the wood beams can hold because we have never done a load test on the wood itself, just our brackets.

Would you be able to use this set up and make a 14’x14’ with PT lumber?

Our maximum recommended spans are 12' for length and 8' for height. For spans longer than 12' we recommend building a double pergola using our Quad bracket. Some customers have built beyond our recommendation and been fine but do so at their discretion.
