I just bought this same car from my sister.. after getting 18mpg with my previous vehicle getting 40 to 45mpg in 2022 with gas so high it’s been a real blessing

I used to have a 1998 Honda Civic. I got 36 - 38 mpg. 34mpg in the city. I got 40mpg on a road trip (all highway). Hard to believe the hybrid doesn't get more.

Please help/advise if you read this comment... My one is a 2010 Civic (JDM) and If I push it to 2K RPM it keeps 2 bars of assist almost always. Am I driving it in the wrong way or what is it? You are using like 3000 RPM and it is not even assisting that much! What am I missing?

Original nickel cadium battery only lasted ,70,000 miles. Replaced with Lithium ion battery. Now at 320,000miles still average 43 mpg and no oil burning yet. 2010 model.

When our Hybrid was new we used to get around 65mpg and that was constant until the second service when Honda upgraded the software after that it dropped to about 40 -45 mpg We had the original load put back in by the dealer and the fuel consumption improved again, then the next service they changed it again and the economy dropped again. There was a lawsuit in the USA against Honda but it went nowhere, so we still average 40 - 45 mpg now 10 years later, we did get a new battery at 14 months old as the IMA light kept coming on

I got my mpg up to 41mpg sustained on my 06 hybrid by doing this and riding my brakes(regen) to a stop. On this car you should always ride your brake pedal to stop so that it gets full bars on the charge meter

How are the 2nd gen Honda Insight batteries? I have a 2010 Insight with about 180k miles. Bought it recently. Not sure if hybrid battery has ever been replaced. I’ve been getting in the 40s mpg average. No warning lights. Hope the battery lasts me a while.

My car has 195k miles in it, 09 civic hybrid but i only get 25-30 mpg, ive even reset the mpg, but the moment i pass 2.5k rpm, it’ll go down, i also use assist for a little, and it instantly dies so i need to wait like 5 minutes for it to charge, then out of no where it charges fully? chon Rodriguez - anything less than 40mpg in these cars is poor. I bought a 2008 civic hybrid 2 years ago my average mpg is 46. I live in the UK. My driving is a combination of city and highway up to 50mph. I've made short motorway journeys where I've got 54mpg. I'm sure if l made a long motorway journey l would get at least 60mpg. I've found the best thing with these cars is to coast whenever you can. Don't have your foot on the gas 100% of the time. Especially if you come to a hill let it coast downhill. On the level accelerate a few mpg past your target speed then ease off the gas and let it coast for 100 yards or even 200. As for gentle gas going uphill, think about it for a moment: if you drive a manual car you need to drop down a gear or 2 to climb a hill, low engine revs would mean the engine would have to labour which is not going to give you good gas milage. Even a conventional non cvt automatic will need to shift down for a hill. What l do approaching a hill is to build my speed up so the car has enough momentum to get up the hill. Hope this helps.

I average around 30-32 mpg mostly all being city driving. my work is 2 miles away and I rarely drive the highway. I get about 37-38 on highway driving.

The tractor and loaded trailer i drive at 75000 lbs gets 195 mpg downhill.

I have a 2007 one and can only seem to get it up to 30 mpg. I bought it used at 89k miles, now its at 122k miles. I've gotten the hybrid battery checked twice and am regular with check ups...even got better quality tires and gasoline...still don't know how to get it close to the 40's :(

thats funny cause the 2006-7-11 mt get 53.33333 miles a gallon i do all day in the coupe ex civic and you say back in the 70s where are you man. that ecu tune for mileage is insane for those models i see why they stopped making them in the what 70s you say haha
