Having only experienced sporting breeds I really didn't think there was a dog out there that didn't instinctively know how to swim. What great spirit Crackerjack has!
I lost it when Crackerjack tried to swim😆🤣 I thought all dogs were born knowing how to swim! Goldendoodle and wolf in the same sentence? Omg! Too funny. My Golden would have been in my lap for sure. Thanks for the great videos!
The first time I took my dog to the river, she just ran straight into the water all on her own, started swimming and didn't stop till it was time to leave. Now if you even whisper "river" she's doing circles and going bananas thinking we're going there 🤣. Now over at my moms place, shes got a Neufie whos supposed to be a water dog and he won't go in past his ankles unless there's small kids in the water and he goes in and pushes them out if the water thinking they're in peril
Love the Halloween Theme also this lady sure outs her heat into her store When I come to visit Kentucky I will be sure to stop by ..From Edmonton Alberta Canada!
Lost my loving Lab Jake . He was 12 and I had to put him down because of cancer of the spleen . He was a major part of my life . It's was devastating to lose him . I have to have a lab i n my life and getting another pup soon .
@@gagebennett5604 Not as much as it sucks to be you.. having no empathy is actually a big mental handicap and real love is out of the reach... Sad but true :(
I really enjoyed this video! I'm in Louisville so within driving distance to that spot. Will have to bring my dog & teenage son out to go camping. Looks like a blast :)
Stonnie, I love your videos. I really want my GSD to love puppy adventures with me. So we are introducing new things so she gains confidence in new situations. We are in the middle of the Covid 19 lockdown & this video was a breath of fresh air and fun arm chair adventure. Thanks.
28:22 Those cattle remind me of the hippos in Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise. The guide would whip out his “revolver” and scare them off? I was waiting for you to do that!😄
It depends on the dog, my greyhound was 6 and jumped right into a pond and swan back naturally, a little shocked by it, but a natural swimmer. Now, she wwould never be fast, because of her thin legs offering no resistance, bout she was pretty natural in the water
my older dog is a Labrador an we also have a golden doodle puppy and she just loves water right now ,but my older dog slipped in a pool when she was younger and has never swam we try to encourage her to swim but she only puts her legs in and the water goes just past her legs and I really want her to have good time when they go in the water with my puppy.
I love dogs, I have a black Lab but I'm not fond of these doodle mixes. The only four I have interacted with were in a domestic situation inside a home and they were aggressive. Three while running service calls and the other was owned by a friend. I realize that's only a small sample size at only 4 dogs but all 4 lunged and bit. Not cool!
I take my 11 weeks old malinois puppy and throw her in the lake (ok not throw but I just get into the lake and she has to come with). I also let her jump and ride the escalator. The progress with puppies is just so much faster and easier. The only little blocker is initial fear that starts to disappear the second time they do it with proper positive reinforcement. Absolutely not the same speed with an older dog that thinks too much.
My last dog, a golden retriever, never could figure out how to swim XD he didn't move his back legs, so his butt would sink. We tried several times. One of m first two, on the other hand, almost got himself killed chasing a beaver. Wore himself out and got stuck up against a concrete dam. Dad had to walk out on the dam (it was only two or three feet across with one hell of a drop on the non-lake side) and fish him out.
Needs to be a big kayak and keep in mind that Danes get fatigued easily so you guys will need to stay close to the bank or the pup should wear a life jacket.
Greeting from Newfoundland or 'The Rock' where we pretty much only get 1-2 month of quality warm weather. I appreciate the warm weather when it does finally arrive but it's much too short to really enjoy. I need to move further south.
Hi Stonnie. Love your approach with dogs. How do you charge to train a dog to do something like this? Im not asking how much, but rather, how do you break down what it’s worth?
Dog life vets are actually dangerous, my friends dog died wearing one, he was fitted correctly for one, he fell of her kayak and flipped over the currents were strong and she could not get too him in time. She had a lab too, please don’t get a life vest there a waste, they put your dog in more danger,
Solid Black German shepherd, I wanna say from showlines because she is petite and has a more arched back. I have a black German shepherd from ddr working lines, she was given to me, great dog.
