A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his RU-vid channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

In all my years of random video guitar learning THIS clicked for me on how to mesh major scale and pentatonic scales, everyone is always “all theory all day” or “it’s simple do this *shreds with no explanation” and this lives in between and I appreciate it 🎸

Sean, your teaching style delivers basic form, fuction, which, transcends towards advanced principles of MUSIC; not just scales, etc. I feel whole & more complete after watching your videos. You start with a clear basic understanding and then sprinkle a bit of a road map, towards playing music, developing your own style & improvisation. That's what it's ALL about.. MUSIC Thank YOU!

I’ve not long started to watch your videos. You have a very clear way of showing what to do. I’ve always wanted to get away from the pentatonic scales and the way you show three notes per string is very easy to follow. I’m grateful for this lesson on how to mix the two scales during a chord progression. I have subscribed to your channel now so I can keep up with your much appreciated lessons. By the way, half step down tuning is really nice with blues. Give it a go!

I was watching one of your videos (and now I can't find it) But you were showing beginners how to memorize an easy shape to play major scales (3-5-7 / 3-5-7 /4-5-7). This got me thinking about a follow up video you should make about how you can carry on that same pattern slightly adjusted (4-6-7/5-7/3 up to the high E Octave note. In that video you covered the intervals to a major scale being H-H-half-H-H-H-Half which would bring them 4 Octaves higher than their starting note, and then they would be able to play all those same patterns beyond the 12th fret. I think people probably got a lot out of your first video and they would definitely lot out of that follow up video. You do great work man.

Just to reiterate on my own comment. That video that I was mentioning in my comment really got me thinking about a lot of things. I think that you are a great guitar teacher. I recently developed a color coded chart that outlines intervals and how to get to a specific mode from your root note to using each string intervals up or down to the desired mode. I posted that chart on line thinking it was so easy to understand, except judging by the comments i got i think more people were just confused rather than enlightened. The way that you explain things probably really help people out greatly.

Hey Sean, one break through I’ve had recently is realising that the notes in the pentatonic scale for the chords in a key can actually fit within the overall key and be played whilst on any of the chords (other than the 7th) - I always thought you had to use the relative minor or the major scale of the key regardless of the chord you were on. Do you think it sounds good on any of the chords or just the tonic and the relative minor? Hope this makes sense, I’m sure a man of your calibre can understand.

Thanks for the tips on soloing off chords. I haven't paid much attention to western pop, rock or hip hop in decades, let alone trip hop or club music, so Bonobo was new to me. Sounds like spa music for space people engaged in erotic massage. I would have loved it when I was high in the 70's but those days are long gone and so is my taste for that sort of thing.

Who can afford bowls of cashews? You might as well have bitcoin bowls. Looking at E and A string barre chords and learning to play only the GBE string parts of those was incredibly useful to me. Then realize those are triads and perfect for soloing. Then do the exercise you show, alternating chord and melody. Great vid!

"Blues should *only* be played in open tunings". Where do people _get_ these sort of ideas from? It's like saying "Classical music should *only* be played on the white keys of the piano"...
