You could do this with Gold Filled but solder slow and steady with Gold Filled since it has a precious layer

Great idea to curve the blank. Just wondering, is there any reason not to use my wire cutters for making pallions? Solder is pretty soft, isn't it?

Actually solder wire is pretty darn hard. You can use wire cutters is they are the big beefy ones from the hardware store that can take a little beating, I wouldn't use your good jewelry cutters, especially if they have very fine razor blades

Nice tutorial especially with the fix for the wonky joint, but I note that you didn't clean the surfaces of the joint before soldering. Is there a need to do that beforehand?

Good tip! Yes you can! Sometime you need to clean it if it's not soldering.

What pickle do you use? I use sulfuric acid but silver turns redish and sending is necessary.

What type of tong are you using to remove the pieces from the pickle pot? Copper tongs are recommended. Do not put steel tweezers into the pickle, this will cause the pickle to become a copper plating bath. Everything inside your pickle will come out covered with a thin layer of copper.
