Dude! (^_^) 2 days ago a squirrel tunneled under my home and in the process sliced the cables for two of my cameras. I did an internet search to see what "How To's" were available even though I already know how to do it. (I've got degrees in electronics/computers/robotics and have years of experience working for IBM...) The "How To's" consist of people telling (writing) others what to do but not HOW to do it which needs to be SHOWN. Not in static pictures or photos, but in video exactly like you chose to do. No narrative. No voice-over. No hype. Pleasant/soothing background music to cut/strip/join/insulate was a perfect choice. I mean, "Flight of the Valkyries" with all its intensity would've really over-amped the drama for what really is just a five minute fix to get things back up/running. Imma going to finish my coffee, tool up, and head to the corner of my home to do just what you showed via video. Solder the connections? Use Shrink tape?? I'm set up for that but, Nope. At the end of the process I am going to lay the "repair" on a flat board and roll on it with my shoe/foot to smooth out/compression seal the electrical tape. Good enuf for me. Note: took two days to get this point cuz well, the squirrel had to be "dealt with." Y'know? SUBSCRIBED! \(^_^)/
I am an older female who really wanted to know how to do this specifically. I'm headed to Harbor Freight for a wire cutter tool, feeling very confident I can do this.
