You have to be selected to try out for delta, even if you go through the hell that is ranger or green beret training, you aren’t just able to tryout they hand pick who they want to tryout for delta and even out of all those elite rangers and green beret’s less than 10% make it in. Just kinda gives you an idea on just how deadly and highly specialized delta guys are
@mathematics5573

Delat force selection seems to have a pass rate of 10%. SAS has a pass rate of 5%. I think SAS selection is more long winded. I think SAS selection is harder.
@sugandesenuds6663
@sugandesenuds6663 2 года назад
@@mathematics5573 your forgot that ranger/SF training also has a dropout rate of about 70%. so 1000 guys attend ranger school, 300 will make it, and from that 300 only 30 will make it past the Physical selection

@@mathematics5573 SAS has the same rate as Delta they are both 10%. The difference is anyone can fill out for SAS and Delta is hand picked across all branches of U.S. Military.

Kyle Morgan's Delta Operator # was 965. That means there haven't been 1,000 Delta members since it's inception... I'm sure SAS has had tens of thousands. 😂

Absolutely not. While being physically fit is a major plus, also being mentally fit will be an asset. Completely different criteria from SF and Rangers. Delta is not about being the best candidate, it's about being the "right" candidate at the "right" time. Criteria is a moving target every selection cycle.

This is for how to be an Enlisted Delta Force Operator, I was able to find some stuff on how to be an Officer though, in order to be an Officer for a Troop in Delta unlike Enlisted you must be in Special Forces Active Duty and be Either an 03 or 04 with At least 2 deployment as an ODA leader, then you go to selection and operator training and then you join, chance are Officers are teached differently due to leader ship, can’t find anything on how or if Warrant Officer join the unit. This is just general information on internet and wanted to share what I found. Edit: I guess I’m wrong, apparently a Force Recon Major was in Delta for 4 years or so Also other requirements I found was 100 percent accuracy at 600 Meters and 90 percent accuracy at 1000 meters. Meters maybe replaced yards, did not specify what weapon system would be used, but I believe likely a standard M4 Carbine. Another observation is that it seems the whole unit is both Air Assault and HALO and HAHO trained. Also Airborne qualified, but that’s pretty obvious. Anyways I really enjoy the channel and Thank you for not doing a stupid robot voice Edit: Chances are if a Operator sees this comment they are going to laugh at how wrong I am.

It's really not that hard to volunteer to try out. Each year they hold recruitment drives, mostly at Ft. Bragg but they do go to Ft. Benning and other posts as well. Last I knew it was only NCO and Officers that would be invited. You'd get a presentation and a demonstration, usually a live fire. Only a small group would volunteer but most of those end up disqualified in the initial application process. It's no joke when they say they don't want the best guy, they want the right guy.

You get chosen after going through a green beret, and or ranger school. It’s hand picked there is no volunteering.

Not if you're an NCO. Officers have different standards for education as that is part of their promotion criteria. That's not to say that NCOs don't hold degrees because they're ignorant, it's just not required. Any class an NCO can take through correspondence or online (in person usually is not an option as constantly deployed) is highly suggested to show progressing education to the promotion board.

Each group has a different mission and trains for that mission constantly. Example: SF's mission (with the 160th SOAR) is completely different than DEVGRU (SEAL Team 6). They may do joint missions where one group from a branch works with another group from another branch but will train for months before execution. Example - 160th SOAR & DEVGRU going after UBL.
